In humans, the lungs are divided between the left lung and the right lung and further, they are segregated into lobes. The left lung in humans is smaller than the right lung since the right lung of the person has three lobes and his left lung has two.

What does it mean to have inhomogenously enhancing lymph nodes adjacent to the aortic arch measuring 2 cm. The patient has colorectal cancer with metases in the liver and the lungs

It means they're very sick and should in all likelihood be in the hospital under a doctors care who has the training to know what this means.

It means they've got swelling of their lymph nodes near their heart, and their cancer is spreading.

What does the lymph gland do?

Lymph vessels route lymph fluid through nodes throughout the body. Lymph nodes are small structures that work as filters for harmful substances. They contain immune cells that can help fight infection by attacking and destroying germs that are carried in through the lymph fluid.

How do I stop my ankles and feet to swelling after being sun burnt

Hello Anne.
Since this is a Q & A about cars and trucks,,, I will venture off topic..
This is serious and therefore should be evaluated by a physician. When you go to your doctor's appointment, be prepared to discuss the following possibilities. If the ankle swelling started just after the sunburn, it may be due to an inflammatory reaction as the skin tries to heal. A sunburn is a first degree burn but it still causes local inflammation and pain. As the body mounts an inflammatory response, the capillaries in the area dilate and become leaky. This process can cause localized edema and swelling, which usually resolves on its own over time. However, not every sunburn causes this reaction, so if yours is severe, you should see a physician. The reason you get extreme pain when you stand still is because the blood is pooling in your lower legs causing the swelling to increase. It is so painful cause the tissues are ripping apart to create room for the 'blood pooling' or tissue swelling. The most sensitive areas are the shins cause the tissue is tightly attached to the bone. That is why when you sit down or lay down it subsides or goes away. The body is not "upright" causing gravity to pool the blood in your lower legs ankles and feet can also be due to lymphedema. Lymph fluid travels up through vessel and is filtered through the lymph nodes of the body. Any issue with the lymph nodes or vessels in your leg can cause the fluid to pool in lower areas of the leg. If you have ever had lymph nodes in your abdomen, pelvis, or legs removed or irradiated, you should see a doctor very soon. Another possible cause of your problem, is your body retaining too much fluid overall, which can be manifested as swollen ankles and feet. This condition, called pitting edema, can affect people who have problems with their heart, liver, or other body systems. When fluid builds up in the legs, it can also build up in the lungs and other critical organs, so it is important to have this issue evaluated immediately. I strongly recommend that you make an appointment to see your primary care doctor ASAP!!, and he or she can refer you to a specialist if this becomes necessary.

What is a lymph node? is it a swollen gland and could redness come with it on y neck but the swollen is on side of neck.

You have lymph nodes all over your body, including your neck. The lymphatic system is a third part to your circulatory system, and carries a clear fluid, lymph. The lymph nodes are junctions in this system, but are not glands as such.

They can become infected like any other part, and you should visit the doctor who will sort out what part is involved, and what to do.

Swollen lymph on the left side

If you mean that you have a swollen lymph node, then you should see your doctor if it does not clear up within a couple of days. Swollen lymph can indicate an infection somewhere else in the body and often easily rectified.
However, a swelling in there region of the lymph nodes can indicate more serious issues and so a vist to the doctor is highly recommend if it goes on for more than just few days or becomes very painful.

IF you are referring to swollen lymph in a blood pressure monitor, please forward more details

good luck
