The simple answer is yes it can be fixed. The real question is can it be fixed cheaper than replacing the unit. Unfortunately the most likely answer is no, it can not.

SOURCE: SanDisk, 2 GB Sansa mp3 player won't charge

I was having the same problem with my Sansa e250. My wife has the e200, and we didn't have any problems with that. I saw that someone on here suggested to lock the mp3 player with the tiny metal switch on top, so I did, and the battery charging icon on the bottom of the screen came on and stayed on, and the mp3 player worked. thanks!
Because of this I would suggest checking to see if it's locked or unlocked and then change it to charge it.

You MAY have a power glich. In which case, hold the power/menu botton down for 20 seconds or more, then connect it to the computer. It's best if you use a USB input that's NOT part of a Multi-USB base, as those DO cause power gliches.

at first connect your mp3 player to the computer. then format your mp3 player. after formatting transfer all the songs to your mp3 player. this should fix your problem.

Dell jukebox not working, want to transfer music

Mine has also ceased to charge. For awhile it would charge if I manipulated the charging plug in the socket but now doesn't respond to anything. It does make a nice paper weight now. I suspect mine has a bad connection in the charging circuit somewhere, perhaps just the socket has gone bad. Who knows? --- GB

My Dell MP3 Player Won't Charge

I had the same problem for weeks. Very frustrating. Try the following as it brought my pocket dj back to life. I found that (while plugged into an AC adapter) by inserting a paper clip in the hole on the bottom (reset button) and holding it there for 5 secs it would power cycle the dj then the charging icon would appear in the top left corner, however it did go away after 5 icon flashes. I did this repeatedly. I noticed that every time I pwr cycled it , I got more icon flashes and it would charge for a bit longer. Finally it charged completely. Weird but this is what worked for my player.

Dell pocket dj

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news But probably not. As I've said all along it's not worth repairing most of these port. mp3 players as they charge more for labor then there worth. This is one reason Im not in the repair buisiness any more!! The whole repair thing dropped out of the bottom come about 2002 to 2004 and most of the sets that came in they didnt even wanna spend 45.00 bench charge and that was applyed to the repair. Now some folks would say so lower your prices But with the price of rent ,heat, insurance and to pay your employees with health insurance you cant give nothing away \!! But this is why alot of things are not repaired and simply repalced. Good luck
