Manually clean inkjet printhead assembly Most inkjet printers have a removable printhead assembly. If yours does then:

  • Remove cartridges then the printhead assembly according to the printer manual.
  • Using a mixture of half distilled/filtered water and half window cleaner with ammonia, completely submerge the printhead assembly in the cleaning solution for about 3 minutes. You want to force any air out of the nozzles and soften any ink in the nozzles.
  • Remove printhead from solution and carefully blot any excess liquid off the printhead assembly with a paper towel. Be sure to dry any electrical contacts completely. Blot off any excess ink which may be on the bottom of the printhead. Do not 'wipe' the printhead as this could scratch it. Be gentle. You want the liquid in the nozzles to remain there, so don't shake the cartridge to remove the liquid or blot the printhead where the ink comes out as this will wick out whatever liquid is in the nozzles and the air may again block ink flow.
  • Replace the printhead assembly and cartridges.
  • Print a few pages to get the ink flowing. If the print looks light this is because of the cleaning solution in the printhead. It should only take a few pages for the colors to come back to their normal level. You may need to run a nozzle check to ensure ink is getting through.
Still not printing?: I would repeat the above procedure once more just to be certain that is it not air or dried ink causing the problem.

I hate to state the obvious, but how long has it been since you've changed the ink cartridges on the printer. If you have done both the nozzle cleaning and print head alignment and nothing appeared on the paper, I don't know what else it could be.
This following suggestion is very rare - if you recently replaced the cartridges and your printer hasn't printed since then, it is possible that you installed them incorrectly; OR perhaps you left the head protector tape on the cartridge. But then it wouldn't "see" the cartridge.
In the "rare" situations, you should try to remove and replace the cartridges to assure that they are properly installed.

My Canon MP560 will not print

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Why does printer print blank sheets of paper?

Blocked print head nozzles
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent blocked print head nozzles. You may have blocked print head nozzles.
Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles.
After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required. Also try - Removing the print head, run it under hot water for 2 mins, then let soak for 10 min. then used a can of compressed air to dry thoroughly. It may fix the blocked nozzles.
A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

Printer prints out blank pages

Follow these steps:

1. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder.
Turn off your printer.
Hold down the paper button as you press the power button to turn the printer back on. Hold down both buttons until the power light begins to flash, then release the buttons.

The printer prints its test page, which includes a nozzle check. Does the paper print out without any gaps or with gaps? If there are do this:

2. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder.
Make sure the printer is on and the ink light is off.
Right-click the printer icon in the bottom right corner of your screen (the taskbar) and select Head Cleaning.

Follow the on-screen instructions to start the cleaning cycle, which lasts about 1 minute. The power light flashes throughout the cleaning cycle and stays on green when the cycle is finished.

Caution:
Never turn off the printer during a cleaning cycle or you may damage it.

When the power light stops flashing and remains on, you can check to see if the nozzles are clean. Click Print Nozzle Check Pattern and click Print. Check the printed nozzle check pattern to see if there are gaps in the lines.

If there are no gaps, click Finish.

If there are gaps or the pattern is faint, click Clean to clean the print head again.
You may need to clean the print head up to 4 times. You can also turn off the printer and wait at least 6 hours. Then try printing again.

If this doesn't work then double check that you have the toner cartridges in correctly. If you do then your print head is broken and/or burned out and it's best to just replace the printer. Fixing it would cost more than the printer itself

test the printer first, so that we can isolate the issue. print a nozzle check to eliminate the possibility that the nozzles are clogged by dried inks. if nozzle check prints blank page or it printedr but w/ gaps or breaks, do head cleaning

Does not print

***hi there,il be willing to help you on that. ****
the nozzles of the printer might be clogged by dried inks thats why when your printing, its feeding the paper, as if its printing but no inks on the paper. print a nozzle check to see which part or color have clogs, if there are gaps or breaks, do head cleaning untill no more gaps then try printing.
Running a Printer Check
1. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder. 2. Turn off the Epson Stylus NX100 Series. 3. Hold down the nx100_tx100_ug.1.96.1.jpg Stop button as you press the nx100_tx100_ug.1.96.2.jpg On button to turn the Epson Stylus NX100 Series back on. Check the nozzle check pattern that prints to see if there are gaps in the lines. nx100_tx100_ug.1.96.5.jpg 5. If there are no gaps, the print head is clean and you can continue printing. If there are gaps or the pattern is faint, clean the print head. If your printouts are unexpectedly light, or dots or lines are missing, you may need to clean the print head. This unclogs the nozzles so they can deliver ink properly. Print head cleaning uses ink, so clean it only if quality declines.
You can also clean the print head by holding down the stop button on the printer for three seconds. (This only works when the red ink light is off.) Run a nozzle check to confirm that the print head is clean.
Caution: When you don’t turn on your printer for a long time, print quality can decline, so turn it on and print a few pages at least once a month to maintain good print quality. ***if my troubleshooting steps are helpful, pls vote for me, i will appreciate it, so that I can be a part of fixya, thanks, Godbless****

I press print. It acts all busy and loud. Prints NOTHING

If paper is feeding through and you don't get any errors try this: Try doing 4 to 5 head cleans, wait about 10 hours for the ink to soften and do another 3 or 4 cleans with a nozzle check after each. You should see a gradual improvement in the nozzle checks. If there is no improvement then you need a head cleaning solution such as this one:
http://www.powerklin.co.uk/?gclid=CNGDypir-JgCFQ4yQgodZlC4lw

Others are available just try googling "inkjet head cleaning".
Hope this helps.
Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.
