Please check that all of your belts are still good (ie not stretched out, torn or otherwise worn). Also, please double check that you've cleaned all debris from the brush roll. You might need a tooth brush or a comb that you can throw out later. You might use shampoo to clean in. Then , please have the brush roll motor checked.
It could be many things. First press the brush bar reset button. If that didn't fix it, it could be one of the two switches that control the brushroll, a bad wire or connection somewhere in the vacuum or power head, a bad connection between the vacuum and the power head or the brush roll motor.
It'll help if you clarify if this is no power at all - the motor makes no sound, motor is on but no suction, and/or suction but the brush isn't spinning. If the latter, then there are a couple of possibilities. The bar should stop spinning when full upright, where the system will route suction to the handle for accessories. Try reclining the handle. there is also a switch for the brush clutch to engage (see the manual http://www.dyson.com/medialibrary/files/dyson/support/downloads/uk/floorcare/manuals/DC25_Manual.pdf ), including page 8. The brush will also stop if there is a blockage. The checklist for clearing obstructions and resetting the brush bar (!) are shown on page 5 - there's a switch on the back to press twice, probably re-engaging a breaker.
J Luke, it's not fully clear what the issue is - no power at all, or that the brush won't spin. The manual can be found here ( https://www.dyson.co.uk/medialibrary/Files/Dyson/Support/downloads/UK/floorcare/Manuals/DC24_Manual.pdf ) and a Dyson graphic for resetting the brushbar is here ( Reset brushbar ) A very common issue that a lot of people don't pick up on from a first perusal of the manual is that the brushbar will not spin when the vacuum is in a full upright position (this is what switches the suction over to the handle/wand, and no use spinning the brush with no suction, so it turns off). You may want to try again with the vacuum back inclined from upright. There are some models where part of resetting the brushbar after a blockage is to press the brushbar switch (grey switch next to main power switch according to forums, though not pointed out in the manuals) several times.
Other forums say that if something has actually failed, it's a PCB about 1% of the time and the actual brushbar motor the other 99%. That swap would go into a lot more detail than likely needed here.
