A lot of people mistake the "S" as a 5. The error dispaly says "CS" which means call service. You probably have a gasket hung up and need a new seal pack.

Culligan water softener Mark 100. C5 code is on. Water softener is not working. What does this code mean?

The main piston is frozen up and needs to be replaced. It gets bent due to poor design. Culligan sells a rebuild kit for this that includes the piston, seal kit, brine refill piston and sleeve along with a new metal bracket to prevent the shaft on the main piston from bending and causing this issue again. There is also a new C clip for the drive gear on top.

Our system is only running small amount of water through to the drain... system operating panel just says C5! Even after unpluging and repluging it doesn't change. Does the system need repair?

If it is running small amounts of water to the drain when it is in service position this means you have a bad seal pack and it needs to be replaced. The "sealpack" is the main piston and seals that control the hydraulics of the valve. When water runs to the drain constantly either the piston is jammed (which would show an error code) or there is a bad seal causing water to get by. I suggest calling Culligan or if you are handy you can do this yourself. You need a sealpack and refill piston. It takes about 20 minutes. The kit is available from Culligan.

Looking for ''Culligan soft-minder meter'' (part# 01-0073-47) for a 1998 Culligan Mark 100 water softner. I believe the turbine is no longer moving as the meter does not count down. What does the part...

It could be the meter assembly itself. This is the old style with the clear meter dial on the timer mechanism. There were several issues with this meter assembly. You can take the valve off and take it to your Culligan dealer for a "bench test". Also check the meter cable in back of meter assembly. It may have come apart. These parts are only available from Culligan.

Mark 100 has a

I removed the control panel and saw that it had a series of dip switches. All these dip switches were all positioned to the same side, this is the way it was installed.

I reset it by flipping all dip switches to the opposite side, then unplugged it for 10 seconds and plugged it back in. The LED the. Displayed something other than the "CS" code. With it still powered, I reset the dip switches to original setting and unplugged again for 10 seconds. When I plugged it back in, I was able to reprogram. I'm sit sure if this is how a service tech would reset the control, but it worked for me and my mark 100 has been running fine since. Good Luck
