SOURCE: HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SLOWWWWWW NETWORK SPEED ON IMAC INTEL

ummm no. don't reinstall just because this fool says to. research it first before you throw the kitchen sink at it. Try using opendns servers at the router level as my mac was running a bit slow as well and that fixed it for me. But regardless of my sucess, keep tracking the issue online and see what environment you fit into with your problem. Don't go hog wild and reinstall your system unless you find you have no other options available.

SOURCE: Cant connect my G5 to the Router to get internet

two things to consider. There are two different types of Ethernet cables out there. Perhaps you have a one way cable for the second one. To test this, unhook the working cable from the mac that gets internet and then hook that one up to the one that doesn't get it. See if it sees the network after a minute. The other issue might be in the Operating System. You might need to make sure that they are both up to date with all of the latest updates installed. (I know, hard to do with out an internet hook up.)
Lastly, make sure you are plugging in the cable to the right place on the back of the router. Seems silly, but some of the best have accidentally put it into a link plug to connect several routers rather than an actual Ethernet plug.

SOURCE: Ethernet speed changes from normal to zero

If you have high speed internet go to your ISP webpage and do a speed test. If You are paying for say like 10 MEGS and are only pulling 1.2 Megs. It probably is your modem. Your speed will slow down to approx 7.5 behind a router. Also Your ethernet cable might need replacing. might also might try resetting your router. disconnect all power even the cable comming in and reset everything. Hope that helps.

Why can't I connect my iMac to my Dlink DIR-615 wireless router?

That is a older wifi access point and maybe the N is not compatible for your imac. I would get a dual band 2.4/5Mhz wifi Access Point.

New iMac very very slow loading pages with Actiontec GT704-WG

I have seen this before and this has cured it:
Check the DNS settings in the Network panel and enter a manual DNS that matches the base address of the router (192.168.0.1 for this router).
System Preferences > Network > Ethernet > Advanced > DNS. Click the + sign and add 192.168.0.1. Click OK, and click Apply on the next screen.

My IMAC ethernet connection to my wrt54G is much slower than wifi

Then you have your settings wrong, as I have the same setup for many years. The setup page of your router should be set basically default, it should be all set to auto ip and other than your dns there should not be anything else to set. I have 3 wireless and two wired devices and all of the computers .And the speed is constant,,something is wrong with your settings, if you can take a screenshot by opening the router homepage and hitting the print screen button on your keyboard, you can then hit paste on here and it will past the entire thing on here to examine

Connection of Paradyne 6211 to iMac (OS 10.5) via Ethernet

Hi,

If you connect by using LAN port (RJ 45) you don't have to install driver. However USB connection will require driver. Do you have Ethernet adapter installed to you iMAC? If you have it will be resolved easily without using USB port. Check the following link for connection instructions
http://www.fixya.com/support/p200812-paradyne_6211_a2_200_router/manual-18800/page-18

If physical connection is successful you can go to internet browser type 192.168.1.1 and check your modem's settings. Please post if you need further assistance

Good Luck
