My Francis Francis x1 pump is working but not pumping water. My X1 was sitting in storage for over 5 yrs and now I tried to use it for the first time in 5yrs, the pump is making noise like it used to but there is no water being pumped, how can I get it to work again?

Change the Pump, and descale the machine.

We recommend replacing with EAP5 ulka Pump.

"francis francis" x1 blocked - Fix Suggestions?

You can tell if the pump is working by the noise it makes. Mine got blocked with scale and I took it apart and cleaned out the boiler. It's possible; the boiler is bolted together with standard bolts (metric size). If you've got the interest the Francis Francis is easy to service; you will find a way into each part of it and clean it, and if you do it will work like new.

Francis francis espresso wont pump water but steamer works?

The main problem with coffee machines is they get furred up with limescale. If you let it go too long they can stop working like this. It's not difficult to take the machine apart if you're mechanically inclined and then you can clean each part.

My francis francis x1 has started running very slowly, it takes about 2x longer for the shot to finish coming out than it used to.

Hi
You might need a new pump or relief valve on the pressure end of the pump. There is a hose the goes back to the water tank in the back from the relief valve. See if water is going back into the tank when you are brewing?

No steam

You may have a clog in one of the hoses. Otherwise pump may be clogged. Or faulty heater. Is it hot?

Francis francis X1 the water supply seems to be lacking pressure

I would go ahead and run a solution of 50% distilled white vinegar and 50% water through the machine. If the machine still runs slow after that, pour another 50/50 vinegar/water solution into there - let it run just enough so that the vinegar water starts to drip out, then cut the machine off. Let the vinegar/water sit in the machine for about 20 minutes. Then cut the machine on and let the rest of the solution run through. Then run plain water through the machine to clear out the vinegar. Try brewing a batch and see if the machine behaves normally.

If the above fails to resolve the issue, the FrancisFrancis machines are now owned by illy, so would need to contact them for further TS.

Low temperature

I had the francis francis examined.  It is indeed the boiler, a $200 fix if you could get the part.  Francis Francis X1 is now a brick!
