Water shorted out freezer power switch, where can I get replacement part. (Texas)

You have a dead short to earth. Strip off all the panels and look for water where it shouldn't be and chaffed cables especially near holes in the casing. If you can't find anything, you need to check individual items, compressor, pump, and grinder with a multimeter. Or just call for service.

From what you have described you need to replace the door light switch on your Frigidaire freezer. In order to assist you further I would need your model number. You can locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside wall of your freezer. I look forward to assisting you. -Matt

Compressors do not usually shut down. Either there is a power interruption to the motor caused by the power switch or thermostat or the motor has developed an internal short whereby it uses excessive power causing it to overdraw/overheat and have the clixon circuit shut it down.

Look for water leaking out of the sump or the float switch not all the way down.. If you need more, let me know.

Blow out the drain at bottom of coils also it might be frozen ice inside the drain.Pour hot water in the drain tray and wait

Bad float switch.

yes. if you pull all the wires from compressor and use a meter with a continuity bell , touch a copper line and then a compressor terminal. try em all. odds are you'll hear a bell showing continuity or the fact that power can flow directly from the compressor terminal to the chassis= a grounded compressor. or you could have a dead short where the wires in to the compressor aren't touching the case but are touching each other before they go to the motor windings, = a short. either one is an all done situation. time for new .

The thermostat may have shorted out so that it is no longer making contact to put power to the compressor. After drying out the components try bypassing the thermostat and see if it will start or make any sound whatsoever. If it does start and run with the thermostat bypassed replace the thermostat. 4-6 inches of water can also get to the relay on the compressor. Replacing the relay and over load assembly also be a good idea.

Sounds like the switch or wiring around the switch is shorting out. Most light switches pop out with a screw driver.Some older units might have a small heater in the door around the seal but usually not See if there is any wiring going through the hinge pin. If so you can safely cut and tape this off. The door might sweat a little but this is a solution. Please deal with this as it could be a shock hazard. You might not notice if you touch and are wearing dry shoes, but a barefoot child could be killed.

I am guessing there is a safety switch somewhere which is gauging how much water is left in a defrost tray. Other likely things: open circuit breaker from the water shorting things out. Start with these. Other, more exotic things could be involved...but not as likely as the above.
