The socket that holds the bulb may have a burnt wire or the door switch that operates the light may be bad.

SOURCE: I have a whirlpool side by side refrigerator model

you need to replace the main/board for sure located in the lower rear left hand wall of the unit in a plastic case, it will have 3 wire harnesses unplug the unit, undo the plastic container and unplug the the board and there will be a burned spot on the case and burned trace on the circuit board, reason being, this is very common on any of these sideXsides,if a light blows out in the refrige compartment it puts a surge on the board and burns the circuit trace open, this makes the digital temp read-out go dark and if the lamps light at all they "strobe" dimly or not at all,and you will hear a clicking of the relays in the rear area trying to latch the light bulb circuitry, but cant because the main/mother-board is defective now

SOURCE: Whirlpool Gold Conquest refrigerator side light

This may not be the problem now but by the sound of the malfunctioning electronics, it could be in the future. The start device on some models of refridgerator for maytag and whirlpool have been recalled. If your appliance was manufactured in the last 5-10 years you may be having an issue with this component. Mine recently caught on fire at this device that is located near the compressor. If you would like to be a part of the petition for a recall on this appliance contact me at jboooor@hotmail.com

GE Monogram ZV950S D2SS range hood - lights on one side stopped working then on both sides. This happened as I was changing bulbs. Everything else works.

Light doesn't work
  1. Light bulb
If your refrigerator light does not power on, the first thing to replace would logically be the light bulb itself.
  1. Light assembly
If your refrigerator light does not power on and you have replaced the bulb, this is an indication that the light assembly may have malfunctioned and will require replacement.
  1. Light switch
If you notice that your refrigerator lights are not working, replace your refrigerator light bulb. If this does not correct the issue, proceed to check the power light switch.
  1. Door switch
If your refrigerator light is not working and it is not the bulb itself or the power light switch, the next thing to check is the door switch. This can be checked for continuity with an ohm meter. If there is no continuity present, the door switch will need to be replaced.
  1. Light socket
If your refrigerator light is not working after replacing the light bulb, check for a possible damaged light socket. If the socket is faulty, replace the part to get your refrigerator light to power on again.
  1. Light board
If the refrigerator light is not working the light board could be defective. The LEDs on this board are not repairable, so the entire board will need to be replaced.

Lights are not working in the refridgerator. Freezer lights work. Replaced switch, still no lights

did you replace the bulb? what you can also check, and the likely cause will be the socket itself. unplug the fridge from the wall outlet, remove the bulb from the socket. you will see 2 copper tabs, on e on side, one at bottom of socket, bend these slightly toward you, to ensure they contact bulb. replace bulb, plug back in and check. All the lights in the freezer are working. None of the lights in the refrigerator are working. All the bulbs have been changed. Is there a fuse in the refrigerator that would make the lights go out?

In your model , the refrig section light , gets its' power from the control board . When the lights stop working , so will the light for the temp adjustment display . The control board is located behind the refrig , at the bottom , on the left side , inside a white box . It is held on by 2 screws . The part costs around $ 80.00 , and is easily replaceable .
