I have been looking for a 1981 36 volt Yamaha golf cart steering box and steering column where can I search to order those parts?

It depends on the model, but they are usually wires in series to give 48 volts to the motors, so plus to minus on each them.

Cart positive lead to batt 1 + the - to batt 2 + to batt 3 - to Batt 4 + and the minus - of batt 4 to the cart.
