Frigidaire model number FEFL79DSB showing a F11 code on the control panel. Oven will not turn on and I am getting a alarm.

The oven control is getting a stuck or shorted key signal. Depending on the oven model, you need to replace the keypad, the keypad membrane or the entire console assembly.

From what you have described your Frigidaire oven is displaying an error code of "PF" and you just installed the control panel. A "PF" error code stands for power failure. This could be a possible problem with your control panel and power source. You may need to perform a reset on your oven and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for at least ten minutes. F11 means a shorted button on the button board. This could actually be a shorted button, or it could be a bad connection to the embedded microprocessor. There is literally no way to tell without actually testing the unit. If the EOC module (electronic operator control) comes with a button pad, change them both out if you can't test them separately. Kenmore has other manufacturers make their equipment for them (frigidaire, whirlpool, electrolux, etc), so the generic equivalent board may be cheaper to buy somewhere else than sears. Your local appliance service center will know what parts fit what sears models. The model number you provided is useless to me.

I understand that your Frigidaire wall oven is beeping and showing an F11 error code. I suggest hard resetting your appliance, by cutting the power at your homes circuit breaker for 3-5 minutes. While you are resetting your oven, make sure to wipe down the control panel. The panel is very sensitive and could be detecting something that has splashed or spilled onto it, even dust. When you bring power back to your appliance you will need to start by setting the clock. Turn your oven on any cycle at any temperature. If you are still receiving an F11 error code, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. Hope this is helpful.

Unfortunately, an F11 error indicates a short at the keypad. Try unplugging the oven and waiting a minute before restoring the power. If that resets the error, great.

Otherwise, you need to replace parts. Please add a comment with the model number for specific information. Most likely, you need to replace the electronic control unit (clock). However, this error can be a sign of a damaged wiring harness or the secondary control panel in the oven.

If the oven door is locked, you may be able to temporarily unlock it by accessing the switch controlled by the door lock motor. You will need to unplug the oven and pull it out. Then take off the back panel to reach the switch.

Your F11 error code is displayed below. It would be best to have the unit serviced by a professional for this type of fix as if not performed properly, the fix could end up costing over $500.00.

F11 Shorted Keypad.

1. (F11, 12 & 13) Disconnect power, wait 30 seconds and reapply power.
2. (F11, 12 & 13) If fault returns upon power-up, replace EOC.

EOC = Electric Oven Controller

F11 error code means there is a problem with the Control panel. Could be melted wiring, etc, since you left the oven standing. However, you can try unplugging the device from the power socket for about 5 minutes and reconnect. If the error goes away, then well and good; if not, you may have to replace the panel control.
