Kenmore 90 Series Washer : cold water fills at just a trickle:

Kenmore 90 Series Washer Model 119.26912691 Cold water fills at just a trickle. Hot water fills fine. We cleaned the hose, and water flows through it freely when off the machine.

Your hot water goes through the water heater so contaminates settle in the heater. the cold does not, there is a screen inside the fill valve where the hose hooks to the valve on the machine. if this in not plugged then the fill valve will have to be replaced. because of the build up of contaminates..

is the cold water all the way on?

if so, the first thing to do would be to check the screens in the cold water fill hose and the screen in the cold side of the water valve on the back of the machine. if that is not the problem then replace the water valve.

(turn the water off before taking the hose loose)

Kenmore washer 90 series will not fill up with water
You can shut off the water, then remove the hoses to see if the screens on the fill valve are gunked up. This is much easier to do than to replace the valve. I think you'll have sucess on that route :)

Hi, If there is good pressure to the valve and the screens inside the valve are clean, you will need to replace the inlet valve.

Hi, You need to remove the fill hose and see what is plugging the inlet valve screen. This should make a guge difference.

Cold water trickles, hot water fills fast as normal
where your water lines connect there is a sc reen inside and if it is clogged with rust lime and or mineral deposit. it needs cleaned out. you can pull it out with a ice pick or something pointy. Check your screen first and if that doesn't fix ya then yes replace the unit.

Cold water trickle hot water runs good
turn off water valves at wall, disconnect the supply hoses from the washer. where the hoses connect to the washer, there is usually a stainless steel screen/strainer inline on both the hot and cold inlet. corrosion on the cold side is pretty common. Menards, Lowes Home Depot stores sell the replacment screeens.

it will switch from hot to cold and back and forth trying to regulate the temp. You probrbly have more pressure in your cold water line than your hot or vise versa. This will cause it to seem to pulse. Dave www.washermd.com

Cold water filling
There are filter screens where the supply hoses connect to the washer. On some brands there is a screen where the hose connects to the water valve at the wall. The screen is probably full of sediment.

Kenmore 90 series washer no hot water
CHeck to see if the screens in the water valve are plugged. If not the hot water side of the valve went out. Replace the water valve and it will fix both the hot and cold problem.
