I have a Kohler dual flush cartridge toilet and on small flush there isnt enough water being released to wash any paper away. We have two toilets like this and one flushes much more than the other. Can the cartridge be adjusted to stay open longer?

Not really as the flush time is set by the manufacturer in the design
what can be adjusted is the water level in the cistern
the more water , the longer the flush before the reset ( shut off)action is activated adjust that by the float screw ot water level adjust screw on the inlet stem

SOURCE: Push Button - Have to Hold Down Button

I had the same problem. The fix cost me 50 cents (literally). I just placed a quarter on top of the Blue and White flush buttons (not sure of the technical terms) inside the tank and now it flushes properly. It seems that the 2 plastic poles the extend from the faux chrome buttons are just a bit too short.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: Kohler Cimarron elongated comfort height toilet not flushing correctly

low water in the bowl is only caused by the float being to high! the gurgles is Usually because of air coming back up through the pipe, check your vent pipe that come out the roof. this will help the draining.

SOURCE: toto toilet, flapper doesn't stay up long enough to flush

One of two things is the problem. First, make sure that you have a tight chain with little slack. If there's too much slack, the flapper won't catch in the passing air to stay up. Second, the flapper is not correct for that style of toilet. You might want to look into purchasing a new Kolby filter that has a removeable cone in the center. Move that cone to 12 o'clock to allow the maximum amount of water to run through the flush valve. If the flapper you have now is flat, it needs to have a cone in the center on the underside.

SOURCE: Flush is weakening. Toilet paper won"t flush

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

i dont think you have toilet issue,

Try this. take a large bucket, like a paint or home depot orange bucket. fill 1/2 way...
put some toilet paper in the toilet. Then pour the water in fast, and see how it flushes. it it does a easy flush then your drain is ok. if its slow, you have a drain issue and not the toilet.

if that the case, then goto the toilet, and clean out all of the little holes, that are around the unit.. where you see the water come out. they can be clogged up. a small type wire like a clothes hanger.

Brand new Neptune Prague toilet doesn't flush properly and doesn't have enough suction, cloggs with toilet paper. Can be fixed or it sounds like a manufacturing defect?

Raise the level of the water. The dual flush water levels are minimal by design, but need the full flush volume of water. There should be a level line inside the tank, go about a 1/2" above.

I have both a dual flush and a conventional high eff. toilet. the water level on both are set on maximum. but the dual flush won't flush toilet paper in a single fluh. can i change out the complet

Why do you want to change it out just because it doesn't take paper out ? The problem is in your trap. Don't change it unless you just want to. I don't think you can change it over anyway due to design differences.

Toilet isn't siphoning fast enough. The water

take the uper cover fo the toilet. check for the chain, that chain goes to the balon with air that usualy goes up when water is filling in and stop the water.

so, check for that chain to be long enough (it can be regulated ussually). the problem relies that id the chain is too short the reservoir or tank of water cannot fill up to a 100% to siphoning fast enough.

My toto toilet has both 1.6 gal and 6 gal flushes. the short flush doesn't go down.

I am not a toto expert but i think i understand the gravity control toilet concept.A gravity flush tank type toilet flushes do to the force of water traveling from the tank to the bowl in a small passageway and forces the water in the bowl towards the integral trap in the toilet. In other words the water isnt dumping quick enough or the passageway is restricted.,My guess is the flush valve isnt dumping all at once.
