SOURCE: dvd/vcr recorder stops recording

DVD-RAM itself, and DVD-R formatted in "VR" mode are SUPPOSED to allow for recording "ONE TIME" per DRMA. The broadcasters are probably sending the wrong copy protection signal if the -RAM & -R/VRmode are stopping.
At least, that is my understanding.

SOURCE: Need code for Viore TV to program LG RC897T DVD/VHS Recorder

I believe Viore is the same as Samsung. I only noticed this by accident as I bought a Viore TV and my friend bought a Samsung and I noticed both remotes were identical. I tried the Samsung codes and the remote worked. Good luck! Kevin

SOURCE: LG RH266 setup with freeview tv

Sorry to say no it wont not unless the Tv set manuel says it has a Duel Freeview feed , you have to get another freeview box for the recorder .
besides If you used the freview in the tv 1 , the tv would have to be on when you wanted to record ?. and 2 you couldnt watch another channel whilst recording another .. only 1 tuner ?. also you could only record the program you had on .at the time no timer facility .
People are still used to the Old system of VHs and the fact that all videos had tuners built in so you could watch and record .. It will come and indeed some more modern DVD recorder have freeview built in again sorry but thats the facts , and dont forget if you want the pay per view channels on free view your going to need a tuner with a pay card port ... SOURCE: LG RH399H

I have the same problem with the same model LG, bought a year ago. It only gives the 'Record-blocking signals detected' message when there's something I really want to record. Over the winter it was Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice. Today it is the British Open Golf from Turnberry. We are out tomorrow, for the last day of play and can't record!!!!! It seems this player has build in blocking signals even to channels we can normally watch. Any help would be appreciated - before tomorrow, July 19th.

SOURCE: Stop Substitles on a LG RHT497H 160G dvd recorder?

I have the LG DVD recorder DRT389H which has the same problem. You can't switch off the subtitles during timer recording from the Electronic Programme Guide. The only way I could stop this was to go to the main set-up menu then select the A icon. Select DTV Subtitle and choose a language that the TV programme isn't broadcast in. I chose Gaelic. The only disadvantage is that this stops any subtitles being recorded so you can't access them later.

Having trouble recording TV broadcast to DVD?

My LG DVD recorder was unreliable when recording TV broadcasts to "standard" DVD disks. Frequently it would begin recording a show and then stop with a copyright error message during some commercial. I rarely got a complete show. Very frustrating!

Solution: Buy some DVD-RAM disks and this machine will become totally reliable. They are hard to find and a little more expensive than +RW or -RW. Because of the copyright programming on this machine only DVD-RAM disks will work in VR (Video Recorder) mode.

I have an LG HR598D Blu ray hdd recorder but am having trouble working out how to program it to record tv shows.

Hit the menu button then go to timer recordings (I think. one menu item is for recording and one is for playing). hit new and enter the stations and times etc. To play back just go to

Another way is to do it through the tv guide but dont bother if the show runs early or late you will miss it.

Another is the one touch recording but it maxes out at 2 hours so not for movies.

One final caution - watch the time. i set it ot manual not auto as it stuffs up daylight saving in Aus.

Have fun!

After I reformat my LG HDD video recorder to give me more space, it only clears a tiny portion. How do I clear the whole recorder? I am going to HDD format, and reformatting. Thanks

Hi,

Do you mean it always shows 10Gb less space than the capacity of the drive. ie only shows 150Gb but you have a 160Gb drive? The reason for this is that it has 10Gb reserved for the buffer of the pause/rewind live TV.

Cheers,

Keith
