How can I find help with my WHIRLPOOL CABRIO WTW6500WW1 with a broken tab on the Lid Lock Assembly, part number W10059230?
The Lid Lock Assembly, part number W10059230 had a broken tab that I was able to superglue but when I opened the switch two parts fell out and they were metal bars, small one inside the switch, there are two of them, metal small bars that are flat but bent in a special way, after I super glued the tab I could not find out where the two metal bars went inside the switch and I have been looking online for a schematic of the part but no help, can anyone tell me where they go so I can test the switch and repair my mom's washer... Please Thank you in advance...

You can't bypass the lid locks on the cabrio models. You can but you have to do some special wiring and add a toggle switch which you have to flip on and off everytime you use the washer, its much simpler and cheaper to just replace the lid lock assembly. You can get them cheap on ebay see the listings linked below: W10059230 eBay
Yeah, I would say that your lid switch came apart. Seems to be a common problem with lid switches made out of plastic. I think that it comes from people placing heavy things on top of the washer. Like themselves during the spin cycle. And it puts too much pressure on the switch making it come apart.
I go to repairclinic.com a lot with model numbers to find manufacturer part numbers. Then take that number and plug it into ebay. For this model I found W10059230 to be the part number. Found a lot of listing on ebay for really good prices. Amazon is another good source for parts for low prices.
As for putting the switch back together there is no way to do so and it work correctly. It will need to be replaced.
Youtube videos is another good source on how to do things. People have been nice enough to post hands on videos of a lot of different things. Great learning source.
get a putty knife and between the top and cabinet about 2 inches in on the left and right shove the putty knife in to depress pins (this can be frustrating) once you can lift up the whole top you will find a tech sheet in the inside of cabinet left . also you will need to do this to replace lid switch. run through diagnostics to view all errors . there will be a list of error codes in this tech sheet with troubleshooting ideas.
Suspect that stands for LiD. There is likely to be a problem with either the lid solenoid/lock or the 'lid closed' sensor requiring a service engineer's attention I suggest. Sorry ;-0(

The F30 error code (dU) will flash when the dispenser motor cannot be driven to its proper position.
Door Unlock Error
A Door Unlock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked. It will try to unlock the door 6 times before displaying the error.
Door Lock Mechanism broken. Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly for foreign objects Check Wire Harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU) Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure
If it is a cabrio: dU flashes if the following conditions occur: Excessive force on door lid is preventing lock bolt from retracting. Wash media buildup is preventing lock bolt from retracting. Machine/motor control cannot determine if door lid is in an unlocked state.
TEST #8 Door Lid Lock Perform the following checks if washer fails to lock (or unlock). 1. Perform Manual: Door Switch and Manual: Door Lid Lock tests. 2. Remove the console to access the machine/ motor control assembly. See Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies. 3. Visually check that the P12 connector is inserted all the way into the machine/motor control. If visual check passes, go to step 4. If visual check fails, reconnect P4 and repeat step 1. 4. Check the lid lock motor winding and switches by removing P12 from the machine/ motor control and checking the resistance values....
Motor Winding/35 ±5 O/35 ±5 O/P12-2/P12-3/ Lock Switch - Home/0 O/Open Circuit/P12-1/P12-4 Lock Switch - Lock/Open Circuit/0 O/P12-1/P12-7 Lock Switch - Lid/Lid Closed = 0 OLid Open = Open Circuit/Lid Closed = 0 O Lid Open = Open Circuit/P12-1/P12-5
If resistance values are good, go to step 5. If switch measurements do not match the values shown in the table for unlocked (or locked) conditions, a problem exists in the door lid lock. Replace the door lid lock.
5. If the Manual: Door Switch or Manual: Door Lid Lock in step 1 failed, then the machine/motor control has failed: Unplug washer or disconnect power. Replace machine/motor control assembly. Perform the Manual: Door Switch and Manual: Door Lid Lock in step 1 to verify repair.
Hi, "dl"indicates a door lock error. A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked. It will try to lock it 6 times before displaying the error. Check for the following when dl occurs:

Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly for foreign objects
Check Wire Harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)
You Door lock is broken or malfunctioned and needs to be replaced. Problem with parts these days is you can repair then you have to replace the whole part (part # W10059230) order it and replace it or call a service technician
