The only time everything has to be programed at the same time, is if you have accidently erase the codes. If you program something and something else quits working, then you have to erase all of the codes and start fresh because you have reached the Max in your opener. Usually you can program at least 5 things into it with out any problems.

When programming a remote, all remotes must be programmed at the same time - including the keypad. Not all Craftsman openers operate this way, but some of the older ones do.

Help truck was stolen, I used remote control to "teach" truck how to open door... I reset door opener and relearned the remote..my question is do the remote have a new entry code when I learn, or remote is...

Ounce you reset ALL code of the garage door opener (engine hook up to the ceiling of the garage that open up the door), ounce you press the reset button on the unit, it disable all transmitter (portable or the one install in your vehicle). Your garage door opener has a receiver in it and your all units that you press on to open the door are the transmitter, so by pressing the reset button on the door opener, you erase all codes of all the transmitter that where programmed to open-up that door.

So if you teach your vehicle using a portable unit and you now reprogram your new vehicle with the SAME portable transmitter, then yes who ever has your stolen vehicle can come back with your stolen vehicle to your house and open up your garage door since you re-programmed the door opener using the SAME transmitter same code sent to the unite to active it).

I want to change current keypad code linear LD050 model

To change the keypad code.

Step 1:
Erase the current code - On the upper right hand corner of the left hand side of the unit, you will see a "learn" button.

Press and hold the "learn" button for 12 seconds.

When you release the learn button, the red light above the button will blink 3 times and then come on bright for 15 seconds.

When the light goes out, the memory in the operator is erased.

Step 2:
Learn a new keypad code.

Press and release the "learn" button.

The red light will come on. You now have 15 seconds to complete the next task.

Go to your keypad and enter your desired code (1 to 6 digits long)

press start/stop on the keypad.

The red light will blink when the code is successfully stored.

Don't forget to re-enter all of your hand held remotes into the memory:

Press and release the learn button. When the red light comes on, press the button on the remote you wish to update.

Repeat for other remotes. By the way, If you hold the learn button down for 10 seconds, you'll have to start over and the memory will be erased.

Opener will not recieve programing instructions from the keypad.

There should be a button on the back of the door opener that says "teach" or "learn". Push that button, a light comes on and you have about 30 seconds to program the control by holding it near the unit and holding the remote button down. The opener will then learn the code from the remote.

Two codes open door

You must hold that red button in for 6 seconds to erase the memory. Just remember you will have to program your hand remotes plus the wireless keypad.

Can not program both keypad & remote to operate at the same time

One of your units has reverted from "rolling code" to "billion code" and as you have found they will each work but will not work with each other. The problem is finding out which unit reverted. The most common one is the hand remote but that could be wrong.

Put a keypad on an access master now remote doesn't work

I think the problem is you are mixing brands. Although Craftsman is made by Chamberlain it is very difficult to match remotes and keypads. If I were you I would call a local Chamberlain dealer and give them your model number and ask for their advice. I can think of no other reason why you can't have both remotes and a keypad.

How to reset keyless entry on 2005 taurus

To reset the personal code you will need the permanent code supplied by Ford. This will be on a white card left in the clove box or in the owners manual bag. This can also be retrived if you go to a Ford dealer. Expect to spend around $50 at the dealer unless they can help you out. Once you have that do the following. Good luck.

1.Enter the permanent factory remote keyless entry (RKE) keypad code.
2.Press the 1/2 button within 5 seconds to activate the programming mode. Holding the 1/2 button for more than 2 seconds after activation erases the stored personal code.
3.Within 5 seconds, enter the new 5-digit RKE keypad code. The door locks lock and unlock to confirm the new code is programmed. Entering any new personal code automatically erases the old personal code.

2003 ford futura programming a new keypad

Adding and Removing remote Keypads to the Smartlock module
------------------------------
Up to four Keypads can be programmed and used with the Smartlock Remote
Central locking system.
If you have replaced the BEM, or new keypads are being added to the
system, you will need to train the keypad codes to the module.
# 1. The ignition switch should be in the Off position, with all the
doors shut and Unlocked.
# 2. Turn the ignition key to the ACCESSORY position and within 5
seconds, operates the rear demister switch exactly three times in quick
succession. (IE. Press the switch so the Demister light turns on, then
off, then back on again.)
# 3. After the 5 seconds is up, the door locks will change state, to
indicate that the BEM has entered keypad learn mode.
NOTE : All existing keypads at this point, have been erased from memory
!
# 4. Press either buttons on the keypad that is to be trained. The door
locks will change state twice, to indicate that the keypad has been
added to the BEM memory.
# 5. Follow step 4. for each keypad that is to be added to the BEM
memory. A maximum of 4 keypads can be added to the BEM memory.NOTE :
You must teach all remote keypads for the Smartlock module, before
proceeding.
# 6. When you have taught all the remote keypads, turn the ignition to
the Off position to leave the learn mode. The door locks will change
state to indicate a return to normal mode.
# 7. Check the function of both buttons on each keypad, to ensure that
the keypad has been trained.

Sears garage door keypad/remote programming problem

Hi All,

I had the same issue recently and here's what I found out (through a LOT of research) and the solution (yes, there is one!):

As described by many, when you can't get both the remote and the wireless pad to work together it means your garage door opener can accept both rolling code and billing code technology, BUT not at the same time. When you reset all codes (normally by pressing a button on the opener for a period of time e.g. 6 seconds or more), you erase all codes and remote "pairings". Then when you follow the manufacturer's procedure to pair again (which could be the wireless key pad first OR the remote first), the first pairing determines the technology for all subsequent pairings. Example: if your first pairing/programming was with the wireless keypad, and if it was rolling code technology (normally the case for newer models), then the garage opener will only recognize and accept rolling code for subsequent pairings. If your remote(s) are older (billion code technology) then the opener won't even recognize the signal (e.g. led won't blink when trying to pair/program).

And vice versa if you start with your remote after erasing all programming (then your keyless pad won't work).

But here is a potential workaround! For newer wireless keypads (e.g. clicker from chamberlain), you have an option to select the type of opener you are using as you do the initial password set up (normally indicated by a number e.g. 1 for models built after 1995, 2 for models built between 1997 and 2004, etc). Each choice is associated with a technology in the background (e.g. either rolling code or billion code). If you are programming your wireless keypad first after erasing all codes / programming, if you chose the "recommended" option for garage opener, chances are it will be rolling code and that means you won't be able to program your older remotes (billion code) after that. So how can you chose the option that will match your remote???

Here's what you do: start by pairing / programming your older remote first after erasing all codes / programs. That sets the technology (e.g. billion code). Then, go ahead and program your wireless keypad, but you may have to go through the process several times by trying the different options until you find one that works!

For me, I had to try 4 options before making it work. Options 1 through 3 (mind you, options #2 was the exact match for my garage door opener model but it would cause the problem discussed here e.g. wireless keypad would work but not the remotes) would not even be recognized by the opener in this procedure (LED would not blink), but it did work once I hit option 4.

I hope this will help you with your problem. Let me know if it's not clear. Cheers!
