Why won't the clock stay lit? Shows the correct time, but only stays on for a few seconds.

The clock stays on for only a few seconds after the clock button is pushed.. The time is correct, but won't stay on. Happened after a power outage. Everything else works.

Hello Aivars;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

There is one of two reasons for your clock light going out:

1.) You may have a loose connection on your digital display board which has tiny lights. This can occur from the vibration of opening and closing your oven door.

2.) Your digital display board my be going. The cost of this board is about $65.00 USD. If you call a service technician, the part cost will be doubled and you would be looking at a service bill of about $350.00 USD.

The above is general since I do not have your model number to see exactly what you have. Your model number should be on a metal tag, either on the top of the oven door or on the face of the oven after you open the oven door.

So, the question is: Do you want to pay $350.00 for a clock light?
Or, can you live with this inconvenience?

Testimonial: "The model number is Frigidaire FEFS52DSD."

Hello Aivars; Thank you fpr the model number. I guessed wrong with your unit. In your case, The small lights are on your main control board in the center. I have checked the wiring diagram. When you have a power outage and the power come back on, you get a power surge. This can damage or knock out a control board. Manufacturers recomment surge protectors for all appliances with electrical control boards. You can get individual wall socket surge protector for about $25.00 USD. I have attached the wiring diagram and the main control board. The main control board is about $110.00 USD from Sears, or for about $80.00 USD on the internet. Part Number 316418200. If you elect to replace the board, MAKE SURE YOU GROUND YOURSELF BY RUBBING YOUR HANDS ON BARE STEEL. STATIC ELECTRICITY WILL KNOCK OUT A BOARD.

Some clocks work that way. I guess they're just saving power.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like the control board is not communicating correctly with the rest of the unit, consult a professional.

La Germania oven won't stay lit. Stove is 10 years old and problem just started. It will light, but goes off after a few seconds.

Use a good air gun to blow off dirt inthe regulator. dirt in the nozzle and the burners.
Use a good brush to assist, or a thin metal wire to push through the gas passage .The air mixing section must be fitting correctly wedged.

Clock display won't stay lit

Same thing happened to our Kenmore range and I found a solution on the web about fixing this problem on a fridgedaire range. It was to hold down the clock button for an extended time ~15 sec. It worked for our kenmore and hopefully for yours too.

I Have the whirlpool Oven RBD306PDQ8 - The power went out in our neighborhood, when it came back on the clock display will not appear. We can set the clock, it stays on the panel for about 10-20 seconds...

When the power came back on, it sent a power surge to the ERC (clock assembly). Try turning the oven breaker off for 10-15 minutes, this is to reset the ERC. If the display still doesn't work, you will need to replace the ERC-Electronic Range Control.
