For most curler sets it's usually within 3 minutes... I know it seems like a long time when your waiting for it. Hoping this helps .

If it is brand new, send it back for a replacement.

if you are in a soft water area then you would probably be ok, but if you are in a hard wate3r area then you will be risking the internals getting all furred up with the deposits in the water.

I have the Forfex babyliss 720 and I can't get new blades installed in it. I have tried 8 times and someone else has tried 5times. Do you have any instructions on this model.

That depends on several things.

1- how MUCH time? 2 to 5 years? thats acceptable.
2- How has it been stored? If exposed to extreme teperatures or sunlight then I would avoid it.
3- you may have warranty issues with the older model.

If its just last years model on the retail shelf, I see no downside at all really. The warranty would still apply from date of purchace.
