AFAIK Supermicro is not using Service tags like Dell or Lenovo. Instead they go by serial numbers. The location of the serial number depends on the type of the server:
Blade serial number (SBI... or SBA...) is located on the side
Blade Enclosure serial number (SBE...) is located on the rear side
CMM (chassis management module) serial number (SBM...) is located next to the latch
Rack-mountable chassis serial number is located on side of chassis by the sliding rail
4U Tower Chassis serial number sticker is located on the bottom side
Rack-mountable Systems' Serial Number is located at the rear side by I/O panel
Embedded Systems' Serial Number is located on the I/O panel

Hi I have a supermicro x8sti Server Board inside

Basically you have two choices for installation of video card:
1. To purchase small form factor PCIe card suitable for installation on 1U server chasis or
2. Purchase PCI express riser card and to install most full-sized PCI Express cards (Check this link for PCI Riser )

Cant install server 2012

Hello download a manual from the homepage:

http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/xeon3000/3210/x7sbe.cfm

Check the settings in the bios.

Try to reset the bios to factory default.
And setup basic boot settings for the drives.
First boot device: cd/dvd
Second: the harddrive.
Try installing with only one harddrive (you can always add more later)
Check also the cd/dvd drive for fault.

The Os server 2012 is supported.

Good luck

X8DTL-3F ESXI RAID

ESXi is definitely supported on Supermicro's X8DTL motherboard. However, software RAID is not supported.

If you are having issues with a specific hardware RAID card, check the compatibility list for your card.

Resolve Error Code: C7 on SuperMicro Server

First check the OS compatibility for you motherboard here:
http://www.supermicro.com/support/faqs/os.cfm

Then, if compatible, check the IDE/SATA setting. Change the hard drive controller settings from IDE to AHCI or vice versa to see if the OS kernel panics on boot. If that does not work, please reply with your OS version and motherboard model.

How i solve supermicro x8dt3-f display problem

Make sure JPG1 is jumpered between pins one and two.
Pin 1 is on the left.
JPG1 is on the very bottom of the motherboard, near the end of the PCI slot.
Next go to Advanced Setup Configuration if you can get any video, and check Boot Graphics Adapter Priority.
Make sure it is set to Onboard VGA.
If no video, reset the BIOS.
Onboard VGA is the default.

SuperMicro superserver 6013P-i Windows 2003 After building power issues, this server constantly restarts. It gets to the windows screen for 10 seconds, then a blue screen flashes so quickly i can't even...

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.supermicro.com/products/system/4U/7043/SYS-7043P-8R.cfm

Blue screen of death, means you have a bad driver or a system file.
I think the hard drive, is failing.
This is probably why, you can`t start in failsafe mode either.
But do check the ram modules, for fault aswell.

Good luck
