DN-V310 when I play the DVD I get audio and no picture. I have tried another DVD player on the same TV with the same cables and that one works fine. So, I don't think that it is the TV or cable. Any idea what could be wrong?

Regarding the problem with the sound on your DVD player, I would suggest you to make sure the audio cables (red and white) are connected properly to the TV and player.
Also, try using a different set of cables since those ones might not be working and this is why you are not getting audio. On the Memorex remote you will find a mute button, make sure it is not activated.
I had the same problem, so I took it back to basics. Hooked cable into VCR/DVD player and another cable from player to TV. S cable too, plus red/white audio. Plays DVDs on AV1 and VHS on Channel 3 on TV setting.
You DO NOT use "Channels" to View a DVD player it usually connected to the AV External input. via AV, Yellow, (Video) Red & White, (Audio) or Component Video, Blue, Red & Green. (Video) + Red & White (Audio). These are selected via the External Inputs.
You have to make sure that the RCA cables are properly connected to the TV. Check the TV/Mode if it's set to AV1 (Audio/Video1) or AV2. You may check the TV remote to set it to AV1 or AV2.
From the DVD, the cable should be connected to OUT. And on the TV...video and audio should be connected to IN.
Most likely you have the dvd part connected through component or svideo cables. Despite the fact that this is one unit, like other vcr/dvd combo units it acts as two separate units in the same box. The vcr will probably not play through those cables. As you have audio coming through I'd imagine that the audio is connected using red and white composite cable. Connect the video on the vcr side with composite yellow cable or run direct to tv with a coaxial cable.
I don't know how you connect the unit to the tv. Let's just start on basic: composite video/audio(yellow-video, white/red-audio) connect to TV composite video/audio input behind the TV. If the audio works but no picture, try to use another video input behind the tv.if that still doesn't work, use a different video cable! Good luck!
1.Check audio/video RCA jack cables 2.check S-video(if you use S-video cables) 3.check with another dvd player to get normal picture on your tv system. if picture is normal in this process. then problem with your old dvd player. 4.if same problem occurs in other dvd player. then problem with your television. external audio/video processing circuits 5.if the tv is ok. then the problem with your old Dvd player audio.video converting circuits 6. if can be rectified by authorised service engineers 7.Contact service engineer. as there is no recitification process from user part
Use your TVs remote and select AV usisng the TV/AV button.
Most DVD players use the AV Cables to connect to TVs.Yellow Video Out to Video IN of TV, REd and White Audio Left and Right to Audio L and Audio R IN of TV.
