Why is my picture color distored color?????????

Its a older set and I have fixed and even owned one---bad solder connections and or convergence problems---can you describe better what it looks like when cold?

Turn tv on picture is clear and sharp. no problems at all. However, after 30 or 60 seconds picture is blurry, color is distored. stays that way

as well as in your manual. Sometimes the lamp must be reseated
by removing it and reinstalling it with great care making certain
the door and all the gaps are closed tight.

If the lamp replacement or reinstallation does not solve the
problem you will likely need a service tech to look at the tv
as there are few user serviceable items for Plasma sets. Most
of the repairs are done by computer connection that downloads
the error messages and interprets what went wrong.

The problem you are refering to is more than likely a convergence problem. The convergence circuit in your tv is controlled by an IC (integrated circuit) stk392-110 and it makes the 3 colors (red, blue, green) line up/converge together to create a clear picture. You'll know when this part needs to be replaced because the picture you see is 3d looking and possibly bowed on the top or bottom or on the sides in any or all 3 colors.

This is causes by a defective ccd sensor the optical unit needs replacement. If you're out of warranty, you will have to send it to a third party camera repair service. Expect the price to 40-50% of a used equivalent.

Repalce Both STKs ICs may be using STK392-110s or 560-020 let me know which STKs you have so when you replace them you need to upgrade ics.diffenrent number if they are 110s go to 180s.

You need new convergence ICs Call your locally tv repair shop or find someone that knows how to work on CRT projection tvs.

stll have picture?....is colors distored.. sound like a color wheel problem.. the colorwheel is a motor anything that moves eventally wears out.
