My Yahoo messenger doesnt hav call to buddy option but when

i'm guessing you mean user -- just message them. if it doesn't say they're offline, they're invisible

He should be able to see you - he does not need a cam to do this.
Make sure your settings are settings are correct.

Download the manufacturer's software ( by using the CD or from their website )
Once your webcam is working on your computer,you can configure it to Yahoo Messenger.
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start - if you have been using it elsewhere the Yahoo software may have difficulty in locating it. Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in, if yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, unless the software has a feature for this.
Of all the chat programs, Yahoo is the most painful software to set up but if you follow these instructions you should be ok.

INTERNET CONNECTION
Webcam connected
Open messenger - on top toolbar. Left click ( > ) Messenger > Preferences > Connection - Select 'no proxies' or 'connect direct to the internet' depending on the version of messenger you have
make sure your internet connection and country are correct in the lower two boxes > Apply > OK

TESTING
> Messenger > My webcam - the warning panel will launch, click 'OK' and your webcam will start.

DEFAULT
With webcam still running > Messenger > Preferences > Webcam > Camera Source - set your webcam as default using dropbox. > Camera Settings - adjust settings to suit. > Apply > OK
Take a note of any additional software, if you have multiple choice for Camera Source, you may wish to uninstall any redundant webcam software later to prevent conflicts

PERMISSION OPTIONS
> Messenger > Preferences > Webcam - make your selections ( who you will allow to view you) > Apply > OK

IN USE
When you are both on line and wish to show your webcam > Actions > 'Invite to view my webcam'. This will launch an invitation on your contacts screen when they 'Accept' your webcam broadcast will start- There can be considerable time lag ( 1 minute) before they see you, so dont be too impatient ( You can check the status on the bottom left of your webcam panel. You can 'drag and drop' the frame to a convenient location by grabbing the top border.
There is a shortcut ( webcam icon ) down by your pic as well
Your contact needs to configure their connection the same as INTERNET CONNECTION above (less the reference to webcam connected) or they may get a "webcam not connected" message

If you complete the above and still have problems - check to see if your cam is compatible with Yahoo

its not a big problem,first don't panic.just follow the steps i m telling you-
when computer give options like safe mode,safe mode with net working etc.enter on safe mode
after that if windows starts thn run your antivirus installed in your computer and if u dont hav antivirus then install it using pendrive or cd and run it.
after full scan od the system restart computer again.
if problem persists then again start your computer in safe mode and cut all the importand data from your c drive and paste it on d drive or e drive and reinstall XP or VISTA but remember while installing XP OR VISTA computer will ask you to format whole computer or the c drive only,u only format c drive.
tht's it

and always have one good antivirus installed in your system and update it regularly.

because yahoo messenger is the weakest link for the internet viruses and worms

Try downloading the messanger in the safe mode...you can go there by tapping F8 key at the time of turning on the computer and selecting safe mode with networking frm advanced boot options..

c:\program files\yahoo messenger, --- look for the folder yahoo messenger.

delete the folder.

right click start button. - click explore. goto programs. if yahoo messenger is listed delete it.

Now yahoo messenger SHOULD not load up on startup and be an phantom on your hard disk.

Please Note: If all fails, boot in SAFE MODE. then do this process. As well, your computer could be having yahoo loaded as an process making the file in use, thus being locked.

google on how to get into safe mode if you dont know how. I usually shutdown the computer a couple of times improperly or press an certain keystroke.
