Washers and dryers don't in general use brush type motors as they cause radio interference. instead they use a brush less motor quiet and last for years error free . while i don't really know what the problem is you won't find brushes in this.
Brushes are mounted on the motor at the opposite to the belt pulley. A bit fiddly to get at but can be removed without removing the motor itself. Brushes are not the only reason for no spin of course. An easy way to check brushes is to use a simple multimeter and check continuity between the brush connector and the commutatir

Washer dryer will not spin. The drum turns round ok, it washes fine but then won't spin either on slow or fast. Think it may have an induction motor as cannot see any brushes. We have checked the pump etc but all ok.
