Push mower revs too high with throttle just open (or a little higher with the throttle opened more). Revs stay high until throttle reduced to cutout point.

This occured after replacing the governor springs. I have viewd countless utubes to check correct fitting. I have not stretched or shortened the springs (some utubes say 'Don't touch', others say adjust??). I adjusted the throttle cable to just above the point the mower cuts out. At the point the revs are way too high. The governor vane and the springs move freely.

Are you sure you have the right spring fitted?? and have you tried adjusting the spring tension? you can do this by bending the arm that the govenor spring attaches to as seen in this picture

SOURCE: up and down rpms

This is almost certainly due to lean mixture. If your carb is adjustable, back out the high-speed mixture screw 180 degrees.

If there is no adjustment, then either the main jet is still partially blocked, or the carb has internal corrosion (in which case, you will need a new carb - it's not fixable).

98 saturn with trottle wide open engines revs up then down

Sound like you have a bad TPS. Also make sure your throttle body is nice and clean, that will contribute to the problem.

Engine dies upon acceleration after starting and idling

turn the high speed and low speed mixture screws right in[gently]then out 2.5 turns.start it up,screw the idle screw up till it will idle, then adjust low speed mixture screw in or out so you get the highest idle.keep lowering the idle so as you adjust the screw,it wont get it any higher in revs.so by now it should idle.next, open the throttle wide, and adjust the high speed screw until you get maximum revs..then,turn screw 1/4 turn out.that makes it slightly richer, cooling the plug with droplets of petrol.you dont want it lean.if it wont rev fully, check the fuel filter.they get dirty quite often

Zx6r erratic throttle

Just check on your air ducts. When the bike is staionery it will idle rev and even run well on the dyno, but on the open road the airducts must be in and instadled or mounted correctly

10 hp briggs runs at high speed, govenor don't seem to be working

One possible cause for this problem is debris, sticking,or frozen linkage between the governor and the throttle butterfly. Depending on the make and model of your engine it will either be a mechanical governor that has a arm that goes down into the case or a air vane governor that is behind the recoil shroud of the engine. Move all the linkage that connects between the governor and throttle and speed lever to make sure it doesn't bind or sticks. If it does pray a little silicone or wd 40 spray on it to help reduce friction. Also on air vane governors they can become stuck from debris that inhibits it from moving make sure there is nothing in the way of the governor. If all of the linkage is working properly and you still have the issue try adjusting the the fuel mix screws and the high rev. settings on the throttle lever (if equip.).

Ktm250excf throttle lag at low revs

100% the issue is too much air. get your carb checked, reduce air intake.

open the air intake on the carb about 4 full turns then start the bike. if it does not want to start open the idle bring it up at least 5 turns. when it start at a very high rev, start closing the air intake slowly until you feel and hear you have hit the right spot. adjust your idle in the process.

Fuel Air Adgustments .What they are Set at.& Which are which?

The air looks after itself when you operate he throttle. This how you adjust the fuel....There are two screws on the carby marked L and H. Turn these only 1/8th of a turn at a time. Start with H (high) with the saw at full revs. Turn anti clockwise untill you get max revs then turn it back a little bit. If its running too lean it will over heat the motor and damage it. Then if needed adjust the L (or Low)screw. If you get black or grey smoke when you push the throttle up from idle to full its too rich so turn clockwise. If if slows before it picks up to full revs turn anti clockwise.

Carb adgustment? initsial setings. for a kowasaki fc290v on a lil john deere rider?

Hello raptorboyz:

>>The Following is the Instruction File for Setting the Air Mixture Screws. Any Input is Appreciated. The Procedure is the Same for 1 or 2 Mixture Screws, Just Use the Instruction File and Skip Over the Section with the Missing Mixture Screw ( Usually the H Mixture Screw).
>>Now Setting the Air Mixture Screws:
>>****Turn the Idle Air (L) and Main Air (H) Mixture Screws In Until SNUG **Do Not Jam** Then Reverse Both Screws 1 1/2 Turns. Set the Throttle Full Open, Start the Engine.
>>Turn the Main Air (H) Mixture Screw Clockwise Until Proper Revs are Obtained. **Carefully Use your Finger and Move the Governor Arm to Rev the Engine (on Chainsaws and Trimmers Use the Trigger to Rev the Engine) Until you Reach Max RPMs (on Chainsaws and Trimmers, the RPMs are Not Set to MAX. Set to Max and then Reverse the Setting Screw 1/4 or 1/2 Turn. If the H Mixture Screw is Set too High; the Engine will be Starved for the Oil in the Gas and Damage the Piston and Jug/Cylinder) and the Engine is Running Proper at Full Throttle Up a Grade. Occasionally you May have to Turn this Counter Clockwise to Achieve the Proper Revs.**
>>Now Allow the Engine to Idle. Set the Engine Idle Screw (Not Idle Air) so the Engine will Stay Running if Required.
>>Now Set the Idle Air (L) Mixture Screw so there is No Hesitation when Rapidly Throttling from Idle to Full Throttle. Reset the Engine Idle if Required.****
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
