I want to download pictures on a disk and i want to play music in the background while the pictures are doing a slideshow
Which program are you using and do you have enough space for storing your photo slideshow with music? And the DVD disc is better to be blank before you burn the slideshow to your DVD. For burning slideshow with background music onto your dvd, you can check on this article "How to Make Photo Slideshows with Music?"

You didn't specify what OS you are using.
If it's OSX then it's easy using iTunes & iPhoto to select a group of photos and background music.
My slide show on my MacBook gets transferred to the Apple TV automatically and shows up on my Plasma 50" Screen.

Would it not have been cheaper and faster doing it all over again.
Anyway, there must be some option i n the settings where by you can find the location of the music files and replace them with your own of the same type.
