You need to access your router IP page to change frequency channels, the default IP page address is 192.168.2.1.. Open a web browser and type that address into the url, that should take you to your routers IP page. There are many settings in there you don't want to mess with if you don't know what they mean, now scroll down to wireless settings after gaining access into your router. There you will find channel options, I'd pick channel 11 also if you have a smart phone you can download an app of the google play store called WiFi analyzer. In that app it will show you how crowded channels are around you, most are on channel 1,6.

I think you may need to change the wireless channel number or you need to update the firmware of your belkin wireless router. In order to change the wireless channel number you need to access belkin default page. you can refer this Change Belkin Wireless Channel number and SSID

Belkin f5d8635-4 Router connection problems

Open the working pc open internet explorer and type 192.168.1.2 in the webaddress bar. this will open your belkin router settings page. On the left choose channel and ssid. If it asks for a password leave the password box empty and just click submit. The channel is the frequency your wireless network operates on. Some channels are more stable than others, but its just trial and error until you find the most stable for your area. Change your wireless channel to a different one (any channel is fine, personally 1,11 or 8 works best for me) and click apply changes. Hope this helps.

I have buzzing on my phone when my Belkin n modem router is on . i have just brought new Uniden 5.8GHz phones i have 2 adsl line filters but stil the buzzing persists can you help

The frequencies of the phones and the modem are causing harmonics. You should have the ability to change channels on the phones, just turn the phone on and when you hear the buzzing start changing channels on the phone till it stops. You should have at least twenty five channels on the phones. Hope this helps.

Router loses connection to Internet

Note : The steps below are applicable only for Belkin routers.
  1. Open an Internet Explorer window on your computer and type in http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar. This will take you to the Belkin router's web based configuration page. If you are not able to open the page click here.
  2. You will get a login page. Leave the password blank. Click Submit .
  3. On the left side of the page, click Channel and SSID below Wireless .
  4. The wireless channel on the Belkin router is set to Auto by defualt. Change the wireless to a static channel. Click Apply Changes .
  5. Click Logout in the top right hand corner.
Note: The wireless card in the computer will automatically detect the change in channel number on the router and will update the channel on the card.
CauseYou are not able to connect wirelessly mainly due to environmental interference. When the wireless channel is set to auto, the router will cycle to though channels when it detects significant interference. When the router changes channel the wireless connection will reset itself and disconnect all wireless clients connected to the router. SummaryWireless signals are prone to interference from cordless phones and electrical appliances (e.g., vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens). This is the reason wireless connections can drop. This article explains how to overcome frequent wireless disconnections by changing the channel number (frequency) on the Belkin router.
