I have a horrizontal mirror like line on the top of the picture on HD channels. How do I get rid of them?

Hello Stephanie McDaniel,

Welcome, and thank you for using FixYa!

To answer your question: You cannot make this line go away. This is the effect of digital signal being sent to the TV display. This typically happens on cheaper sets. When you buy higher quality sets, the LCD can display a higher refresh rate, which eliminates this line.

Have a great day!

Black pictures with blue lines running horrizontally through them

If you are able to see the picture in the LCD in black color and if there are no damages to the LCD -the LCD is fine. There is a back light panel attached behind the LCD which may be defective.Check for the loose connections. If you need spare parts contact me.

Can only see a horrizontal line

If you're NOT still under warrantee you should at least open the TV and look for a blown fuse near where the power cable enters the set. A lot of times you can buy replacement fuses at a local electronic or hardware store and they're easy to replace. Check the fuse. If it is blown, it will be obvious and make sure that the set is unplugged before replacing it. If it blows again you will need professional help with the repairs. You can also check the board where the components are mounted and resoled any that look bad. In your case it could caused by a blown fuse, a leaky diodes or a bad solder joint at the horizontal drive transformer. All can be replaced at a local electronic or hardware store and they're easy to replace If this does not correct the problem, you may need to have your TV serviced. good luck!
