YOU HAVE A BAD TUNER OR RF INPUT. IF YOU CONNECT THE CABLE TO THE VCR AND THEN USE THE VIDEO OUTPUT OF THE VCR TO THE VIDEO INPUT OF THE TV YOU CAN USE THE TUNER IN THE VCR TO CHANGE CHANNELS.
Unfortunately there is no listing. I suggest taking a little time to sit next to the television with an notepad to go through each channel one at a time to label what stations come in on what channel numbers. Sorry.
I posted this earlier, however I believe it applies in this case to:
This can be any number of things, here is a possible listing:
1) No High Voltage (check the IHVT or the trippler)
2) CRT filament transformer winding open (check the windings that supply voltage to the CRT filaments)
3) Video / CRT socket boards bad (highly unlikely but check anyway)
4) High Voltage power supply malfunctioning (related to problem #1)
This
listing is a good starting point. I would suggest that you purchase a
schematic to aid in testing the voltages mentioned in the 4 steps
above. If you have a background in electronics then do the above, if
not please ask a qualified TV technician to perform these steps.
1. Manually scan all channels on your TV with your TV remote and write down the channels and network shown:
(sample: 119.2 C-SPAN2 digital channel).
2. Go to Edit Channels and find the icon for C-SPAN2 (about icon 261 in my zip code). Manually change the channel from Off to On, Insert the frequency, and optionally insert the number you want the channel to show in your channel listing ( or move it manually later).
I have about 10 to add each time I reset my recorder.
