Excessive lint on all black clothes. All clothes are brand new. Purchased (new) only 4 MONTHS OLD.

  • Dicea Mar 05, 2010

I have a 2 month old speed queen top load washing machine. I have lint on so many clothes. It seems rather harsh on clothes. It only has 2 speeds.
I do not overload the washing machine. I read the whole manual. I even separate clothes so lint and non-lint making clothes are not in the same wash. Yet I still have the problem.

Are you selecting the correct wash cycle as provided on the clothing labels?

Our Bosch wfmc1000uc washer will not spin leaving clothes soaked. We unplugged and did lint ***** suggestion and still does not work. I read about bushes for motor but am not sure if there is any other...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

It does sound as if the motor requires replacement. It is not uncommon to find that the brushes are worn sufficiently for them to not make perfect contact with the commutator.
Now, a word or two of advice from this old hand- it might be suggested that just the brushes on the motor want changing; experience (of others) suggests that they may only last months rather than many years UNLESS the motor itself is refurbished. Refurbishment includes skimming the commutator on which the brushes run. Without skimming the brushes do not sit cleanly on the commutator (like the worn ones!), often causing excessive sparking and excessive wear on BOTH. Alternately a new motor! I changed the motor on our 19+ year-old Bosch at a cost of GBP250 ;-0(
The choice of course is entirely up to you- but do not forget that it is not an uncommon fault, especially if the washer is not exactly new. Others I have given this advice to have chosen new brushes and I don't blame them!

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Old dvds wont play in old or new player bought 3 brand ones still wont work what brand player shuld i buy tell me whats wrong

If you have purchased multiple dvd players and none of them will play your DVDs (including your old player which previously played the old DVDs), then your issue is with the DVDs. You have to replace them because they have been damaged or scratched and can't be read by the laser anymore. DVDs are not indestructible and can eventually be damaged beyond repair. You'll have to replace the DVDs, which makes more economic sense than buying multiple DVD players to try and play them. If these are home movies or personal recordings you should contact a local computer store about data recovery.

Frigidaire FDE336RES2 Dryer marking Clothes

Excessive lint on or near the heater coils will send smoldering lint onto the clothes. Use a flash light and go inside the drum to see the heating coils or lifting the top up who should be able to see the lint build-up on the coils. These need to be cleaned.

Samsung dryer DV448AEP/XAA - lint buildup

Yes this is rellatively normal as clothes are just not made the same way any more. You could turn down the drying temperature slightly and put in an anti static drying sheet but it won't make that much difference.

Maytag Bravos Dryer (1 mo. old) timer does not change from start

Maytag Bravos 400 Series Dryer purchased August 2009 - November 2009 required repair as I also experience the timer readjusting itself to excessive extended drying time when clothing was bone dry and hot. Sometimes extended to 1 hour 40 minutes! Serviceman stated problem was the Sensors in the dryer. Part number 8577274 Thermister and "Old Ohmed out open" whatever that means as listed on my repair ticket. Have not had that particular problem since. Make sure your dryer vents from dryer to outside are clean and clear of lint. Will help immensely. I have many other issues with this dryer it has been down FOUR times in 9 months. Fighting with Maytag to replace this lemon!

GE top load washer w/no lint trap leaves excessive lint

Most US-sold washers made after the mid 1980s don't have lint filters. The manufacturers weasel-word around it by saying that the lint "goes down the drain", leading people to optimistically assume that there is a self-cleaning filter in there somewhere. There usually isn't and whatever lint doesn't go down the drain is filtered by your cloths (but whatever does might clog your septic system). As a result of this scam, it's much harder to hang-dry or iron-dry clothes that haven't been hand washed. And, if you think spending $2000 on a pair of matched "front-load" style machines will solve this, you might be wrong; many of those washers still have no lint filter.
