I am having similar issues. Just received one, and he doesn't respond well to my commands. The only one he really gets is "Back", but everything else, he does something completely different.

Hit your Voice command button on the right upper outside of phone, Hit Settings Hit 1 make sure Automatic is Checked, hit ok
Now Try Voice Command button again, and then hit your upper Right Softkey for Help on commands...

To activate voice commands:
1. In your menu, go to MY STUFF MENU
2. select TOOLS
3. select Voice Command
4. Enable the on/off option



How to use it:

Call <Name or Number>: This function is activated only when if user says command “Call” and name stored in address book or specified phone number. Handset, voice engine inside recognize users utterance handset, displays name lists from your phone’s address book or phone number, however noise might caused to display candidates. Additionally user can superimpose number type at the end optionally, such as “mobile”, “home” or “office”.

you must copy a phone number to the phone from the sim card once you have a number stored in the phone memory select your phone book scroll to the number select options scroll down to add to voice dial select it you should get a screen that says say a name when your done just select save

May not be the best one, but I just removed my battery and put it right back in and it works again.

Did you try a soft reset, stylist in the small hole on the left side, if all else fails, you may want to try a master clear...warning it will erase everything on phone expect for what is stored on sim card and memory card.
