Will my camera format a 16gb sandisk? If not what do I need? I can't find a Kodak sd?

you can format it in a PC if it has the SD slot.

Your camera was not built to take the new SDHC cards. You can only use SD cards up to 2GB.

The DX6490 is designed to work with SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Your camera was designed before the SDHC format came out. Sorry, your camera can only use standard SD cards, those usually 2GB or less. An SDHC card will not be recognized properly by your camera.
