How do i repair green blinking light in motherboard and not powering up?

Why would you want to try to repair a working green LED?
But you need a manual, to check what the blinking light means. See how it flashes, because the board is trying to tell you what is wrong with these flashes. Like perhaps bad voltage, or bad RAM or ROM? or lost all settings.

D865perl motherboard, the green light is but on the power supply the light are blinking does that mean i need a new power su

Where did you replace the capacitors? It is likely that part is defect. When the capacitors were on the Motherboard there is a big chance you demolished the motherboard. These boards have multi layers and while soldering you must be sure the solder is through and through. If you tried to repair the power supply there are cheap replacements. try another power supply before you go on.

Green light constantly blinking and tv screen doesnt turn on

Good day!!!

That problem is usually have 2 causes..Its either power supply board or main board..

Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:

  1. Open the back cover.

  2. Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light inverter..

  3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..

  4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...

  5. If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you can purchased new power supply board..

  6. If the problem is on main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new main board that fits to your TV..

Hope this solution will be helpful..

Thanks for using fixya...

Tv won't turn on green light blinks

First check the power supply for incorrect voltages, and bad capacitors in an around the output side of the power supply. You may have swollen caps inthe power supply area that needs replacing.

Computer will not turn on. green light blinking

Try replacing the power supply, a blinking green light usually means the power supply is missing an output voltage. If you do that and you still get a blinking green light then the motherboard will need to be replaced.

Power supply or motherboard problem?

Hi talissap,

The blinking light is telling you something about the PSU. First check any AC mains voltage select switches for proper setting. US should be 115. Second if you have a multimeter, you could test the PSU for voltage. Disconnect all power to all components. remove all components from the board including cpu, memory . Leave the PSU only plugged into the board. Press power. If the fan turns on then it's not the power supply. The brand power supply isn't the best, I've seen where you need to wait for 5-20 minutes for the blinking to stop, at which time it will fire up. Now, if it doesn't power up, then it's most likely the PSU.

Good Luck,

Mark

Sony VAIO VGC-RB42G - No Power; Blinking green light on power

Try a different known working power supply on that computer, the green light on the power supply should be constant and not blinking. The green light on the motherboard shouldn't be blinking either but if its not getting the right voltage from the motherboard then it will blink as well.

Get a different power supply and see what happens. At that point the power supply green light should be constant, if its not then your motherboard is faulty at that point, if yout the green light is blinking on your motherboard, if both are constant then reseat the memory and CPU and only have the power supply hooked up to the motherboard and not to anything else.

If you still can't get video then at that point you know the motherboard is definitely bad.
