NO POWER WHEN PLUGGLED IN

The m51 is notorious for failure of the on-board charger. An easy check would be to plug an off board charger into the 3 prong female charging receptacle at the front of the joystick to see if you can bring the voltage up. You can test the on board charger with a voltmeter at the battery connections or charger joystick port with the charger plugged in. Hope this helps

have the batteries individually load tested as I suspect that there are dead cells in one or more.

Before looking for a replacement charger, try this:

1. Remove charger from power socket
2. Remove battery
3. Hold the Power On button on the laptop about 10 seconds (while the battery is removed), and release
4. Plug in the charger to the laptop and power socket (without battery)
5. Try to turn on the laptop

Check also that all the cables from the charger are connected firmly.

If this doesn't work, you will need to replace the charger. Take the laptop with you, so you can try the new charger on the spot to be sure.

A computer repair shop can replace the power on/off button and he power plug input jack if required. Make sure the laptop power charger has the correct voltage for the computer if it is universal power supply/charger.

Is there a power switch on the charger? Is charger connected to the battery? Are the batteries fully charged?

Srivastav,What you have described indicates that the charger has gone. And unfortunately these things can not be repaired. In the past two months I have had to replace three chargers due to spikes or high voltage. Too bad. So, please replace the charger and see your laptop running again. And use a good voltage stabilizer that has cuts high voltage.

Hi, as per your information your camera 2 years old but not used much. You buy a new battery 1st time when you charged you see the gree light. But camera not working. When you try to charge the battery again you seen the red light. Its mean your charger have a problem. So what you do now? Ok try these.
Remove the power connection of the charger. then fixed the battery there slowly & properly. After that plug on the charger again. If the same thing happens then unplug the charger & plug in in different point. Then see what showing. If again red light then wait 1 hours and waiting for green signal. If there is no green signal showing then visit a service center with your charger. Tell them your problem. They will fixed the charger for you. Don't worry your camera is ok.

ok try and clean it off the best you can with a damp cloth and then wrap it up. wait a few hours of so and unwrap it. possible rrod. (red rings of death)

Then it is not the charger. Are there any lights showing on the laptop when you plug it in? Try wiggling the power cord attachment and see if you get any kind of connection. Could be the power jack on the motherboard quite common on all laptops. Could be bad ram module, cpu or motherboard. Need more information....
