SOURCE: ERR: INVALID DIM displayed on graphing calculator

The solution for the problem is simple. When you use the calculator to create statistical graphs, it is configured to accommodate the specificities of the problem. However that configuration remains set after you terminate the problem. So when you try to use the calculator to do other problems it uses the stored configuration parameters, which may be incompatible with the new problem. In particular, list of paired-variables must have the same dimensions: There must be the same number of elements in each list.

To make a long story short, you should make it a habit to reset the Ram every time you want to do a new problem. If for reasons of you own you do not want to reset the Ram, you can prevent this type of errors from occurring. This is how you do it.

  1. Press [2nd][Y=] (STATPLOT)
  2. Choose option [4:PlotsOff][ENTER]. Screen displays Done
  3. Press [2nd][0] (CATALOG)
  4. Press [PGRM] (C) to jump to first command that starts with c.
  5. Use arrow to scroll down to ClrAllLists, select it [ENTER]
  6. Calculator displays Done
  7. Start the new problem
To reset the Ram press [2nd][+] (MEM) [7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset]. Press [CLEAR] to erase the Ram Cleared message.

SOURCE: my calculator will not graph

Hello,
Clear the old contents of variables .
Press [2nd][MEM][2:Mem Mngt/Del][6:Y-Vars][ENTER]. The graph functions that have been defined are listed on screen. Scroll to select the one you want to use and press [DEL].
There is amore radical way to clear the memory:
Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset] [1:All RAM][2:Reset][ENTER].
Hope it helps.

SOURCE: cannot graph invalid dim error

This error show up when you are graphing out of the plot menu. If you are not graphing data points from list menu, you need to turn the plots off. In the y= screen, you will see the words plot 1, plot 2, etc across the top of the screen. If one of the plots is highlighted (black box over the words), you need to turn it off. This can be done by arrowing up and highlighting the box and pressing enter. When you arrow back down, the plot should be off and you will be able to enter an equation in the y= lines and graph.

If you are graphing from the plot menu, this error lets you know that one of the lists you are graphing is longer than the other.

Another way to fix the problem is to reset the calculator by pressing 2nd button then plus sign then 7 then 1 then 2. This will reset the calculator however if you are graphing from lists, your data will be erased. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: when I graph, it shows "ERR: INVALID DIM 1:QUIT"

You're probably trying to graph a function that does not involve stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features. Press "2ND" "STAT PLOT" and then select 4:PlotsOff.

I get the error message ERR: INVALID DIM with

If you are in the stat mode and entering points in list 1 and list 2, it could be that one list is longer than the other.

If you are just trying to graph from the y= screen, one of your plots is probably turned on. The easiest way to fix this is to press the 2nd button the the plus button, then 7 and then 1 and then 2. This will reset to factory settings.
