hello
u'd need a proper manual for this in my opinion
like there are plenty of dealers and onlin e shops that deal in those..
you can get some free at sites reliable-store.
and it;s actually really illustrative
I got this free Pdf manual from reliable-store for free and I don't think Ive visited a mechanic or fixya for help for more than 3-4 times out of all the times I fixed the chipper in these 4 years
There is a bypass module that communicates with the truck. It's in addition to the 4103 system. It's lost its programming or is disconnected. Sometimes you can unplug the module, turn the key on, plug module back in, turn key off, then on and start. All should be working fine again.
It is not likely that they could be used interchangably. The reason is the narrow radio spectrum that is used and the desire for such companies to produce proprietary pieces.
It is is possible if you were to get a Fob for a 4103 off Ebay for example, they could be resynched. But the remote start is going to have a different signal than the remote door lock. just so they can be operated independent of each other. So it is not likely the 2101 would do more than sync to the door locks.
this requires a connection from the H1 harness to the vehicle horn wire. in some cases a relay may be necessary as well. additionally the feature needs to be turned on in the programming menu.
Avital and viper remotes even though they look the same, they operate at different freqs. Im a retired alarm installer i could never get them to interchange.
Check the alarm program it shoudl be programing to turns it On every 2 hours, or if you have a temperature sensor should be programed to turns it On when is too cold.
I have a Dodge Caravan 2001 SE. Had the Avital 4103 installed. My question is, before installation i had a Chrysler car alarm in the van. When the remote start was installed they removed the alarm.
The shut down toggle switch was not installed, also the push button valet switch was not installed also. Is this a correct installation, I was told that I did not need the last two items to be installed.
