What does Standby indicate when sending fax

It would be helpful to know what model you have. But it sounds like it went thru ok and is asking if you would like to resend. In case it didnt go thru.

Actually, it's just like sending a single-page document to a particular number but you just have to insert the multipage document in the feeder. Tip If you choose On Fax Send or Send & Receive, and scan your fax to send from memory, you can include an image of the first page of the fax on the Fax Sent Confirmation report. Press Setup, press 2, and then press 2 again. Select On from the Image on Fax Send Report menu.

Not sending multipage faxes I will assume the pages are not feeding correctly. If this is the case replacing the entire ADF would be the easy fix.
Not available new from HP as far as I can tel but available if you search G85 ADF.
If machine is terminating the connection try reseating th LIU this is the board the phone line plugs into. part C6735-60009

When you slide the pages into the top loader you reach a small plastic tab and probably stop there. Push pages in another 1/2 inch or so and you should hear a beep indicating the paper now is in far enough.

You can configure your HP all-in-one so that it automatically prints error and confirmation reports. If you need printed confirmation each time a fax is sent, follow these instructions before sending any faxes and select Send Only. To set automated report options from the control panel Press Setup. Press 2, and then press 1. This selects Print Report and then selects Fax Report Setup. Press to scroll through the following report types: Every Error: prints whenever there is any kind of fax error (default). Send Error: prints whenever there is a transmission error. Receive Error: prints whenever there is a receiving error. Every Fax: confirms every time a fax is sent or received. Send Only: prints every time a fax is sent indicating whether the fax was successfully sent or not. Off: does not print any error or confirmation reports. Press OK to select the report.

Noisy/faulty phone line could do it causing communication to fail after so many errors (need filter if ASDL), or could be having trouble picking up paper (check by doing multipage copy) or of course it is sending fax prob but I take it you mean customerssss faxssss
