There are a few possible reasons why the navigation arrows on your Lowrance HDS8 Gen2 might not be working. Here are a few things you can try:
Check the battery: Make sure that the battery on your unit is charged and working properly. If the battery is low or dead, the navigation arrows may not function.
Check the cables: Make sure all of the cables on your unit are properly connected and not damaged.
Reset the unit: Try resetting the unit by holding down the power button for several seconds. This may resolve any software issues that may be causing the problem.
Update the software: Make sure that you have the latest software version installed on your unit. You can check for updates on the Lowrance website.
I install these and other Lowrance systems.
For me there is no specific amount of tourque, it's primarily your best judgment.
You want the bolt tight enough so that the transducer doesn't pivot while on plane but if it were to collide with something it would pivot up out of the way.
Install the battery cables to the battery for the gas motor.
Here is a transducer installation guide for Lowrance, this is pretty standard for all transducers. Pay attention to how the boat sits in the water when trolling for level setting to match in water.
well if the side scanner is a stern mount. Then opposite side would be best and scanning away from other transducer. Too much wattage and they will mix signals and give you two blank screens. You can mount together but run one at a time. Aloha
verify cable harness integrity at base connection of transducer , replace cable or check settings easy fix would be change display unit if unit under warranty as replacing transducer is not easy and economical
I havew a Minn Kota trolling motor on a Z21 Ranger. Minn Kota has a built in (puck type) transducer on the motor. I have a lowrance 135x on the front. The lowrance will read the temp but will blink the depth. I switched out the depth finder with another 135x with the same results. I have a 522c gps unit networked together and mounted on the console that works fine. Any suggestions on the problem with the 135x?
