Orange light on lamp icon on Optoma EP732H Projector

When i push the power/standby button while it is flashing green, it goes to a solid green but in about 30 seconds the orange light next to the lamp icon comes on and stays on for about 2 minutes, then the projector will go back into standby mode where the green light flashes. The only instructions that comes with the manual says to contact the service tech. Can anyone help me with this issue?

I have the same problem with the same model. It will run for about 5 minutes then just go blank - sometimes with the orange "lamp" light on first, and sometimes not. After it cools down, the power button flashes Green again and it will power up if I press it. The fan runs fine.

I just bought a new lamp coming in the mail--I hope that was the problem!

This same thing happened to me, I removed the bulb and put it back in, it reset something and I was able to use the projector again.

i just had the same problem i took the top of the projector off and cleaned the color wheel and sensor seemed to have fixed the problem that is for now. seems to happen to me once a year on the dot but last time it was warranty. good luck hope it helps.

My hd20 has a power-icon light of amber, when power button is pushed it goes to flashing green and it doesn't turn on, just flashes green

Have you tried decreasing the resolution of the computer?
When the resolution is too high for the projector, something similar to your description happens.

i have the exact same error with same projector. did you manage to solve this?

my status led blinked red 6 times indicating a "lamp error" which wasn't helpful. i also tried removing and replacing lamp but didn't work.

I think it's capacitor issue on the power supply board. open it, look for power supply board and fine bloated capacitor and replace it.

My overhead projector...it does not light up....the fan goes on but no light.

projector goes on then goes out. orange light on solid and flashing blue.
have had optoma look at it they said it was bulb.

Optoma 719, can't get lamp and fan to turn on.

There is a stuffed 10v 3300uf capacitor on the power board. You need to replace it.
Bellow you can check in the picture where the capacitor is located.

Notice that in this picture I have already took the bad capacitor out and replaced with two small cords to reach the bottom and test the new capacitor.
To reach this place is not fast, several layers of plastic and metal must be removed, but is not a hard task to take the capacitor out and replace it for another.
It works just great! Now it is back on track with awesome image.

Only power light will power on for few seconds then flashes.

Does the main lamp light at all? It sounds light a cooling fan failure. If the fan iis not working the the main lamp will not turn on and the power light will flash.
