I assume you are refering to the laser in a CD drive. Use 97% isopropyl alcohol. Put a drop or two on a Q-tip and wipe the dust off the lens. Let the alcohol dry completely before reassembling the drive.

Does it make mechanical noise while it is trying to read a disc? That would indicate a laser out of adjustment trying to focus. Otherwise you may just need to clean the lens with some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. Let it dry well before you fire it up again. Most player issues are due to a dirty lens and most disc style lens cleaners are only meant to be used as a maintenance item.

very few if any universal remotes will work on Symphonic which is also Funai and some other brands.

Look on Ebay or Google the model number of the set with the word remote, remember not a universal.

you shouldn't need a code for that. it is the OEM remote for that CD player. if it doesn't work, id say its a broken remote, return it and buy another one or a universal remote with a learning function.

There is no built-in amplifier on your cd-player so you cannot connect speakers directly to the CD player unless they are self-powered(like the speakers for a computer) so you will need to connect the red and white rca jacks to the television's audio input jacks, an external stereo reciever, or self-powered speakers to get sound from the cd player.
