Looks like you'd have to 'factory reset' your device: something wrong with the file system' descriptors.

SOURCE: I have a zte android and i have a 16gb memory card

Hi!
Try moving your applications from internal storage to memory card first. Also install some cleaners in your phone like CleanMaster which might help you in removing unwanted files, clearing cache, etc.

clear the cache by going to setting, application manager, and clicking each app and tapping delete cache. make sure your pics and videos are stored externally and not on the root storage device.

I have nothing downloaded when i try to download something it says insufiant storage

check the default storage from the settings . it might possible that the memory card is empty and you are trying to download it on memory card but since the default storage is internal memory it is showing insufficient storage.

I have a ZTE Maven. I kept getting messages "insufficient storage" when I would try to download new things or updates. I installed a new 32GB SD card today. I am still getting this message. Help

Your updates are initially downloaded to your internal phone memory. Then, after the download, the update gets installed to wherever you have it stored on your phone. I recommend clearing your caches and history contents, and even uninstalling older updates if necessary. Also, moving as many of your apps and photos, videos, etc. to your SD card will give your phones internal memory some room to grow; but also help protect those things if your phone were to ever break.

My zte quartz has 5.10 GB of free storage but when I try to download something it says "can't download due to insufficient storage

this will be due to the phone downloading to its internal memory there will hopefully be a setting in the phone to set downloads to the external memory or to move apps and files to the external memory to free up the internal memory.

Why am i getting insufficient storage error when downloading if i have 10.3 gb free?

Go to your settings. Then to your apps. When you click on the app, you will have the option move to your sd card. Do it. Do the same with your photos, videos and music files. That is what your Sd Card is for. Once this is done you will have plenty of space on your internal memory to download what you want.

Why does my galaxy S1 say insufficient storage?

I saw " I was having a similar issue a couple weeks back. Though I had only used half my internal storage, I still couldn't copy anything :-/ I downloaded DiskUsage App and found that there is this LOST.DIR directory with about 6 GB in files. I read online about it and decided to delete it. Free space again! I don't know if this was your problem, but I didn't read anyone mention it. Seems that the phone makes these files when you connect to computer (in case there is a disconnect without "safe disconnect"). After a reboot, the LOST.DIR folder will come back but it'll stay empty." here... http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-t/662135-galaxy-s2-insufficient-storage-available.html

Hope it helps.

Internal storage

When copying a file a "temporary" file is made, if your phone's storage is really jammed up that hardcore I'd suggest uninstall an unnecessary language to free up some space (Russian is a common one installed but never used)
