The detergent door on my Aunt's Electrolux GLD9857AQ1 dishwasher doesn't latch. Is there an easy fix? I tried manually moving what appears to be the latch to make sure it wasn't just stuck, but that didn't help any.

Hi James Curry, thank you for your post!
From the information you have provided the detergent door is not latching on your Electrolux dishwasher. It could be possible that the door latch is broken or door strike is faulty. You may need to replace the latch I would recommend checking over each component to assure there are no cracks or broken pieces. If each appears to be in proper working order I would recommend having a professional technician come out to review and provide an accurate diagnosis. This will help to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. If there is anything else that I can help you with, please feel free to reconnect! -Matt

How to fix electrolux el 6115 door latch is faulty and doesn't click shut

It happens to skip latch and is no longer possible to close the door and turn on the dishwasher. The latch is in plastic material in which a system of levers provides the mechanical action.

Solution: Remove control panel and put latch back into normal position with the slot forward. Look the picture.

Dishlex 302 leaks from underneath

Good Morning Friend,

This appears to be a UK Electrolux dishwasher; however, if you have a US Electrolux model, here are a few tips you can attempt to troubleshoot the issue: First, Use only fresh detergent designed for automatic dishwashers. Measure detergent carefully. Possibly try a different brand of detergent. Secondly, spilled rinse aid can cause foam and lead to overflowing. Wipe up any spills with a damp cloth. Lastly, check to see if your dishwasher is level. If your dishwasher is still leaking, after trying the above solutions, I suggest contacting the manufacturer for further assistance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best regards-

Hi, I have an Electrolux E600 dishwasher and the detergent dispenser door has stopped opening. There's definitely nothing blocking it (the solution given in the manual). Any ideas appreciated. Tha

If the dispenser is broken and doesn't open or close properly the dispenser lever might need to be replacedIf the detergent dispenser cover is broken and the detergent dispenser doesn't work, the dispenser assembly should be replaced.
If the dispenser will not release the detergent the actuator connected between the wax motor and the dispenser might be broken. Check the wax motor actuator and replace it if necessary.

I need to replace the detergent dispenser latch on

To replace the parts you have to buy a whole dispenser assemble for $100 to $200. To buy some time ... Get a heavy gage sewing needle - hold it with pliers and heat it red hot. Stick the hot end into the plastic door at the area where the plastic latch is (where it will line up with the far end of the latch mechanism). when it cools cut off most of the needle leaving one eight to one sixteenth (more or less) protruding. Use a drill and small bit to remove some plastic (or drill a small hole) on the spring latch mechanism. push the remaining part of the needle in or out to engage the hole in the latch.. this will hold awhile.

Neff dishwasher door problem.

The latch on many dishwashers is adjustable. If your door is easy to close but difficult to latch, adjust the latch to let the door close more easily. If you can't see any way to adjust the latch, yours may be fixed in a certain position. Check for other reasons for the latching problem.

Detergent dispenser

The opening of this dispenser is controlled by a wax motor for release. If you are unable to keep the latch shut you are probably looking at the spring and latch assy. This is not a hard job, but you have to open the inner door to get at the latch. Part numbers for the spring disp. flap is 912547. The latch (inside door) is 99001291. If you take your time and observe carefully the job will be easy. Catriver, post back.
