# Yahoo! Mail Settings

Unlike Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail offers standard POP3 access for receiving emails incoming through your Yahoo mailbox, by using your favorite email client software. To setup your email client for working with your Yahoo account, you need to select the POP3 protocol and use the following mail server settings:

Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 110)

Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 25)

SOURCE: I can't login to my account?

hi thanks for using fixya!

Just make sure that you are entering your correct username and password. But in your case, you have forgot your password and your personal verification. Do you know that there is no way to retrieve your email account because of this reason. Well, I suggest, you just have to create a new email account.

Regards!

Googles 72hrs lockout

the 72 hour lockout timer resets every time an attempt is made to create new password,
Google will send a new pass word email, to your Gmail. The time stamped on that email started the 72 hour lockout.
Best thing to do, kick back for 3 days, then create a new pass word. Also will have the option to creat a new gmail account.

I'm trying to change my password, but Google can't send a notification because I no longer have the phone number associated with the account. I cant edit the phone# because of the failed password.

do google not ask for a back up email address any mor to prevent this from happening. Could it be that you registered a back up account with them. If you have a phone bill with the original printed upon it, can you not email it to them as proof of your proprietership of that email account. There will, no doubt, be security information through which they can establish your identity.
I would contact them and ask how they can help

Identity problem Account disabled.

E-mail accounts are disabled after so much time has past without the user logging in. First try giving email id and then clicking on forgot password option. They will either send you a temp password to get into your account or they will ask you secret questions used when you set up the account.
If that does not work then follow what they say and create account and use the same email and password of the original. It might rez it. Or just make a brand new account and log in once in awhile so it does not become disabled.

It sounds like your account has been created as a 'supervised account' - this might be setup by parents for their children for example - the person who manages the supervised account can block access to adult websites, and monitor the activity of the supervisied account - there is more information at the following web page:

How can I get the gmail account reinstated?

Why not just create a new account for the purpose you need specifically. You can have as many accounts (email addresses) as you wish. With Yahoo I have some two hundred email addresses. Whenever I have a transaction with a new entity (person or business) I create am email address that has the name of that entity in it.

Go here: https://edit.yahoo.com/forgotroot/
- and choose "I have a problem with my password".

If you have an alternate email on file Yahoo can send you a password reset link or you can correctly answer your secret questions to change your password immediately.

Please note: When you change your password, it can sometimes take up to 24 hours for the change to take effect.

If you forgot the answers to your secret questions and didn't put an alternate email address or mobile phone number into your account, Yahoo! won't be able to send you a new password and you will need to contact Yahoo directly.

Click here to fill out a Yahoo help form:

http://io.help.yahoo.com/contact/index?l...

Select Yahoo Account as the product, Password and Sign In as the category and Unable to Sign In as the sub-category. Scroll down and click Email Support Agent to send your request.

For your security, you must be able to verify your identity before Yahoo can help you.
If you can successfully change your password and get back into your account, be sure to update your account information:

Hello,
Unfortunately, the official answer from Yahoo is that if you forgot your secret questions you will need to create a new account.

From Yahoo: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/edit/id_password/edit-20.html

You can get a new password, a Yahoo! ID reminder, or both. If you forgot your Yahoo! ID or password, go to the Sign-in Problems page.
If you forgot your Yahoo! ID, you need to provide three pieces of information so we can confirm your identity:
  • Your birthday
  • Your ZIP or postal code (at the time you created your Yahoo! account or when you last updated it)
  • Your alternate email address -Note: You must have access to this email address
  • Country code (at the time you created your Yahoo! account or when you last updated it)
Be sure to provide the same information you gave the last time you registered for a new Yahoo! ID or password or the last time you updated your account.
If you forgot your password, you can create a new one. But first you'll have to provide the following information so we can confirm your identity:
  • Your Yahoo! ID
  • Alternate email address, mobile phone number, or the answers to your secret questions
A Reset Your Password link will be sent to your alternate email address. Click the link and enter your new password in the Reset your password page.

If you entered your secret question incorrectly or forgot what you originally entered, for security reasons, we cannot tell you what your Yahoo! ID is or let you create a new password.

Please let me know if I can help you further.

Regards,

KYTechnology
