How do I synch i-tunes on a new computer with my old i-pod classic?

I have tried hooking it up to my new computer via a USB drive and synching it. Nothing happened. Some of my songs mysteriously disappeared into thin air.

I already have i-tunes. I installed it as soon as I got my new computer. What's wrong is that some of my songs have disappeared even though I put all my back-up music discs in. I'm confused.

Before you connect the iPod, you should install iTunes. The program is free and can be downloaded form the Apple support page. After installing, you better first setup your account. The same name you used to buy the music in the first place. Then connect the iPod to the computer and wait till iTunes starts and shows you the iPod.
Perhaps you have to authorise the PC with the account. You can have up to 5 authorised PC's with one account.

Here you find the software for your computer:

Only songs you bought in the app store, will be synced again and again to your iPod, as long as you have the same account. Music you added from a CD or MP3 files from your computer, only will be synced as long as they stay in the same folder. So now you have a new computer, you again have to add the songs you did not buy in the Apple store. Sorry it works that way.

How do I transfer music from my i-pod to a new computer?

A neighbor wanted me to do some uploading onto her iPod and I do not have one, nor an iTunes. It was very simple for me to get it up and running.

You will just need to download/install iTunes on the new computer:
https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

And when you hook your iPod to your new computer you will give permission to the pop-up setup. Add your account and so on.

Synching Itunes

To Transferring Playlists

If you want not only your content but also your playlists to exist on your new computer, you will want to transfer a copy of all your playlists from your old computer. To do this, choose File > Library > Export Library on your old computer. Save the XML file that is created to your desktop.

Send the playlists file to yourself as an e-mail attachment, use an external drive, or use file sharing to move the playlists file to your new computer. Once the file is on your new computer, open iTunes and choose File > Library > Import Playlist. The import process will remove any items from the playlists that you didn't share via Home Sharing.

I am charging my phone via a usb cable and would like to import all the numbers on to my comp via blue tooth then port them into my new phone.. how do i do this?

If your new and old phone are from the same brand/manufacturer, you should be able to transfer your numbers/contacts to the new phone using the software that came with your phone. If they are from different manufacturers, the only way to go about it is by synching your old phone to your outlook, then synch your microsoft outlook with your new phone.

You should be able to "synch" the old ipod with iTunes on your computer and it will copy your library on to the computer. then just plug in the new ipod touch and "synch" them.

How do i delete pictureson my i pod? how do i down load fils?

Assuming you synch it with images on your computer in which case you would need to delete or move them out of where you synch them with.

If this is on os x then alter your album on iphoto otherwise if you click on the ipod when its in itunes you should be able to go to the images tab and select which images you want to synch with your ipod and untick the one you want or re do it.

Had to erase USB drive Data, now Vmailer wants $40 for synch prog

Hi ,

you can try to get a free synch program for your U3 device , for example : Allway Sync n Go

if you want to delete the information on the device , you can format it as a regular Hard Disk (my computer, right click on the USB drive letter and choose format)
