You didn't give the model name for the machine; however, if it's a Pixie or Pixie Plus, you can download the user's manual that shows you how to thread it and wind a bobbin from the Singer Sewing Machine site. The number listed above your question is not a legitimate model number; it might be a serial number.

SOURCE: i just bought my first sewing machine, its a singer

If you go to www.singerco.com under support, click instruction manual, then enter 750, I think that it will work for you and it is free to download. Please let me know if it doesn't help because there are 2 different model numbers here and the 727198 does not work, and the 758 would cost you $15, so I am hoping that it will get you started anyway and if that doesn't do it, I will find you something else.. SOURCE: Singer 758 model and the thread is bunching up from the bobbin under the material

try changing the needle--flat side goes to the back of machine
rethread the machine top & bobbin--make sure to use every thread guide
make sure bobbin is wound correctly & inserted correctly in the bobbin case
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or loose threads
if you don't have a manual try singer
Go to the singer website
Click on customer support--there will be a drop down menu
Choose instruction manual
In the box type the model number(example 758)

When I use a zig zag stitch ESPECIALLY on stretchy fabric it pulls the fabric together. Also when I sew zig zag the bottom part of the stitch looks like little y's instead of a proper zig zag.

It sounds like maybe the bobbin tension is too tight. It is pulling the top thread down to the bottom of the fabric. If you tighten the top tension it causes the fabric to pucker. If you loosen the top tension, more of the top thread will show on the bottom. Correct tension is when the top and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric.

Please how do I work a zig zag pattern on my manual operated singer sewing machine

Hello, Annelien -

Unless your manually operated sewing machine has switches to realign your sewing machine needle to make zig zag stitching, as is demonstrated in this YouTube video (starting at around 6:30 minutes in the video):
https://www.fearlessmakers.com/manual-sewing-machine-works/
you cannot. Note: The machine in the video is a Necchi brand sewing machine.

Without knowing the model number of your manually operated Singer sewing machine, I cannot try to find operating instructions for it to determine if your machine has zig zag stitching potential.

Best wishes.

I have a Singer sewing machine model 9117. Every time I use the zig zag stitch the machine jams and I cannot continue sewing. Any ideas?

try a new needle

make sure the top thread has not come off the thread take up lever

there could be something wrong with the cam that does the zig zag stitch, if the problem continues you may need to have the machine checked

From the pattern selector (the bigger dial), select the zig-zag stitch. Then, using the stitch length dial (the smaller dial), adjust the stitch length. The closer your stitch length is to "0", the more dense will your zig-zag stitch be.

Zig-zag settings

you probably shouldn't be using a zig zag for that application. But the multi-stitch zig zag.

Please look at page 40 of your manual for information.

As for needle breaking check to make sure your need is the correct one for the thread and fabric. Also make sure your pressure foot is the one recommended for the stitch. Consider this... most thicker fabrics require a longer stitch.

I have a Singer Special Zig Zag Model 418. I can

More than likely you have a broken vertical shaft gear.

When you turn the handwheel you should see the sewing hook moving under the bobbin case.

If not, take it to a sewing repair person and it should cost somewhere around $100 to repair.
