If you have the original Windows CD, put it in the drive and try to boot to the disc. Each computer is different so there will be different methods to achieve this, but if you don't see a prompt to boot to the CD try tapping tab or F8 to see what other options you have for boot order.

If you can boot to CD, see if you can repair your startup, or run a check disk (depending on what version of Windows you're running). If you can give some more detail I can probably help you out better as to what you need to try. Best of luck!

SOURCE: Desktop won't complete boot

Open up the desktop and replace your CMOS battery, or atleast test it and see if the re-booting stops. If not and you have your XP installation disc you may have to do a system repair, start your pc with disc in and press enter when prompted, but make sure that your cd drive is set up as first boot in the bios.

SOURCE: The desktop is empty

First a question; you say you only have the background and cursor does that mean literally everything else is gone including the start button in the lower left and the task manager in the lower right? Or do you mean that all your icons, shortcuts, folders and files you had on your desktop are gone?

well, eventually if it started several times the good configuration you will take is that also to restart again,it better to move on to safe mode in order to restore your windows normally that process will restore your some missing file to start up.after windows appear.
click start, click all program, click accessories, click system tools, click system restor until system restore appear just select any date that system restore will correspond to your request( I prepare past date)then follow the restore system what to do until it will restart again your PC Observed there will a long time to restart just let it be make the restor system is fixing your start procedure then finish it will now appear your refresh windows.if you shutoff and start again it will put back to normal operation. If the problem occured again some virus is inside your hardisk reformat your windows.

Emachines E528 laptop won't start

Try to boot it from safety mode.
and try to restore your system first.
If the restoring is failed, boot safety mode again and back up your files.
If you can't boot your laptop from safety mode, use anti virus program CD like norton.
Mostly, your system is messed up by adwares, spywares, and virus.
If all things fail, you should check your HD.

Restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer

Enable VGA mode
Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)

It is possible for the Windows operating system on your eMachines computer to have a critical failure. If the operating system on your eMachines computer is failing, you can use your recovery discs to restore your computer. Recovery discs come with your purchase of an eMachine, and contain your operating system and all your basic drivers. You can recover your eMachines W series in about an hour.

Turn off your computer and press "F8" to enter the BIOS menu. Tab over to the "Boot Sequence" or "Boot Order" menu. Move your optical drive to the top of the list. Press "F11" to exit and save changes. Insert your recovery disc into your optical drive, then restart your computer. Press any key to boot from disc. Select the "Full Recovery" option from your recovery disc menu. Allow the recovery procedure to complete. Hope this helps.

Hi .. i want to login to administrator in safe

If it can't start in safe mode, you've got bigger issues. You'll probably have to do an OS rebuild. First, try starting from a Windows install disk and go into the repair console. From there, run chkdsk on the reported hard drives. Then try booting into safe mode again. If it still won't, you'll have to do an OS rebuild repair.

Emachine w3107 reboots when windows xp loads

These kinds of issues are most often related to driver conflicts. First thing you need to do is reboot your PC while holding F8, until you receive the menu about booting in to Safe Mode. Try booting in to Safe Mode.

If you can get in to Safe Mode, disable any new devices you have recently installed, reboot again, this time letting it try to boot all the way to Windows.

If it reboots again, go back in to Safe Mode and disable/uninstall something else.

Basically, it is a process of elimination. Safe Mode loads a very minimal set of system drivers, so if you can boot in to Safe Mode but not in to full Windows, the problem is one (or more...) of the drivers that load in Windows but don't load in Safe Mode.

Emachines 2792

pull the power plug as soon as the emacines logo comes on
and if that doesn't work pull out the power as soon as the first windows logo screen comes on. it should then come on and give you the option to start in safe mode or regular mode, choose safe mode then after it comes on in safe mode restart the cpu
then it should come on in regular mode i don't know why it works for my emachines cpu but it does . i'm looking at downloading a error fixing program because i'm doing this almost when ever i turn off my cpu hope this helps if not reformat your hard drive andput windows on again it worked last time i had this problem.
