Where do I hookup an audio output for wireless headphones with either rca cable or 1/4" adapter?

I used an 1/8 inch male plug into tv and then into headphone xmtr.
amazon has lall cables and adapters.

First, you'll need to determine which type of input(s) the wireless headset transmitter has. Most common is the 3.5mm stereo plug designed to slip into the headphone jack of a TV, MP3 player, cell phone, etc. Some transmitters have adapters in the box to allow connecting to the Left and Right channel RCA / phono style jacks found on other components such as CD, DVD, VCR, Stereo receivers / amplifiers, etc.

You'll need to find OUTPUTS of the CD and TV that match the plug on the wireless headset transmitter. If yours doesn't include adapters to go from say the RCA jacks mentioned above - to whatever connector that the transmitter input has - you'll need to go to your local Radio Shack store or similar store to see if they can provide an adapter that will allow you to connect.

Above: A "3.5mm stereo patch cable". Your transmitter may have a cable with an end like this to plug into the TV's headphone jack.




Above: A "3.5mm female stereo jack to RCA stereo male plug" adapter that would allow the top cable to connect to the Left and Right audio output jacks on a typical CD, DVD, etc. device.

These cables / adapters are typically $5 to $10 maximum.

Set up the transmitter. Wireless headphones rely on a transmitter that sends audio via infrared or radio waves to your headset. Set the transmitter on top of, or next to, the television. For infrared transmitters, you'll need a direct path between the headphones and the transmitter. Placing the transmitter on or near the TV will allow you to take advantage of the clear path you already have.

1. Plug the stereo audio cable into the headphone jack of your audio
source (e.g., stereo, TV, CD player, DVD, etc.). If your audio source
has two RCA output jacks instead of a headphone jack, use the
supplied Y cable to connect your headphones to the two (red and
white) RCA jacks.
2. Connect the other end of the stereo audio cable to the AUDIO IN
socket at the back of the recharging cradle/transmitter.
3. Connect the AC/DC main power adapter to the DC IN power
supply socket at the back of the recharging cradle/transmitter. Then,
connect the adapter to an electrical outlet.
Important: This power unit is intended to be correctly oriented in a

It looks like your TV has stereo AUDIO OUT jacks on the rear panel (L and R) which you can use to connect headphones. Go to a local Radio Shack or other electronics retailer and ask for help with the required adapter cable and connectors. They should be able to direct you to the product(s) as Radio Shack has these simple adapters and they should cost very little. All you need is a simple RCA cable with the white and red plugs for the TV side and depending on your headphones, either a 3.5mm or larger connector for hookup on the headphone side. They also sell extension cables so you can move away from the TV more. Don't let them sell you anything fancy or expensive as this is really simple.

Computer speak usually have a 3.5" headphone plug (just like a pair of headphones). This plug is not native to a TV, they instead usually use RCA plugs (red and white with a solid center post and metal 'sleeve' which makes the connection) these are the most common audio out format for most TVs. You can go to radio shack and buy a 3.5" headphone to RCA adapter which is just a short cable with a female 3.5" plug at one end and two RCA plugs at the other (red and white). This is pretty cheap ~$5 and should get you up and running. You will be going from the label Audio Out ports on your tv through the adapter cable and into your PC speakers.

Looks like your Sanyo DP26640 does not have a headphone jack in the traditional sense however it does have two audio output jacks (left and right) for RCA audio cables which would typically go to an amplifier with speakers. If you want strictly a headphone, what you can do is go to Radio Shack and buy an adapter cable for less than $10. You can get adapter cables for 3.5mm plugs and others. Plug your headphones in and you can listen. 3.5mm female and RCA male at the TV side.

u have to split the signal by having both the tv and the headphones getting the input,as you're probably only have the audio cables going to the headphones.You need an audio splitting cable (it has 4 malle connections) so you can put 2 in the tv and 2 in the headphone base.

If there is an RCA output (red & white), you can get an RCA to 3.5mm mini jack adapter at a store like Radio-Shack in the US or the Source in Canada.
