Washing machine drains; then drain pipe overflows

The washing machine drains into a black plastic tube in the concrete basement floor. The tube can't handle the water volume and it overflows immediately. I tried clearing it out with a broomstick with wire on the end...I got a bit of dryer lint out, but it still overflows.

Try some drano other chemical drain cleaner. If there is a build up lint or other biodegradable material in the drain pipe the drano should remove it.

BTW how long has it been doing this..... did it just start?

What causes water to overflow in drain pipe when rinsing?

Probably 1 of 2 things. First you may have a partial clog of the drain, can be a pain to unclog, snaking the drain usually helps. The other could be the line you have running into the drain could be pushed down too far where its lodge funny in the drain pipe, I would pull it up and out of the drain pipe a little to give it a little more room.

With this said, I'm betting you have a partial clog in the drain.

Water doesnt stop fillinG in panasonic NA F60A6 WASHING MACHINE

Fyi. All new washing maching already tested on their functionality and features but not test run with water intake and drain function. I would like to share My experience last time with this model. The water outlet valve will release by motor when you set to drain mode.it suppose manage to retract back by spring when drain process finish or afte small you change to wash mode.
Take a look on the spring movement.normally it not properly hold valve switch hence the retracted spring not block the valve to stop water drain. Just rectify the alignment of the valve swich which directly connected to the retractable spring.

Check your waste pipe roof vent.

If it is not free (of dead animals leaves etc) - it creates a suction - rather than a drain in your pipe.

Help! My basement washer

hmmm..sounds like you may be suffering from back pressure problems. here's what you try first

take about a 5 gallon bucket, and fill it up with water. then let it flow down the drain hole, and then quickly refill the bucket. you are looking for what happens when you have about 25 gallons in 2 minutes going into that hole. If it doesn't go right through, then you might want to have that pipe cored out(in an older home, that's not unusual).

try that first.

Washing machine will not drain

There is a corrigated plastic hose (usually black or white) that comes out the back of the washer that should lead to some sort of drain (usually a pipe that comes out of the floor or in a recessed wall. If the washer is in a basement or place that you don't mind the water getting on the floor, remove the hose from the pipe and just set it on the floor or put the hose in a bucket. It will be SEVERAL bucket fulls. That will drain about 95% of the water. if this works, that means the pump is out. If you do that and no water or if the water just tickles out, you have a clog in the hose or the pump.

Initial set up WMA 30

Hey mike mate problem with the washing machine is minor, however your gonna have to get the top off the machine to get to it.

It seems to me that the plastic tubing connected to the pressure swtich has come away. OR is damaged leaking air. However it is common for it to come off in delivery especially when its an old machine and has no transit brackets.

Theres only two screws to undue, their near the front on either side of the machine.. located behind two oblong caps. remove caps remove screws and push the top back and off.. the swtich is directly behind the soap draw. it has two single wires and two wires on a plug attached.. DONT REMOVE THESE.
THE PRESSURE SWTICH COMES IN TWO SHAPES EITHER ROUND OR OBLONG BOTH HAS A LITTLE TUBE STICKING OUT THE BOTTOM..
Check to see if a plastic tube is connected to it and running down to the filter compartment. most likey it aint hence causing it to overflow..
