Is there way I can raise the handlebars on my Mongoose ledge 3.1? is there a way I can raise the handlebars up?

Mongoose full-suspension mountain bikes, like the Ledge 3.1, have a little bit of height adjustment for the handle bars. See the manual at https://www.mongoose.com/pages/product-manuals . The current link to the appropriate manual is https://p.widencdn.net/brqquy/OMMGFS-1_Mongoose_FullSuspension_OM . Start at page 18 (20 of the manual in the browser) and determine the type of stem on your version of the bike. The quill stem version has minimum insertion marks that must be below the top of the headset and not visible. For the threadless stem version of the mountain bike, you adjust where the handlebars clamp onto the steerer tube. However, this is very imited since there should be only 1/8" to 3/16" gap between the top of the handlebar stem and the steerer (stem) tube. The is where the top cap and bolt to replaced on the handlebar stem and thread into the steerer tube.

I hope this helps.

The handle bar stem on my sons mongoose is loose. I have tried to tighten the screw that connects to the stem but it doesnt seem to be stopping the bars from being shaky?

Your handle bars are most likely stripped or the mongoose head is stripped or a combination of both. Unscrew the bolt you just tightened and take the handle bars off to inspect the little splined area, if smooth than handle bars need to be replaced. The neck should also have those little lines horizontally this area should not be smooth. You can try to wirebrush the area and out it back together, see if that works or the cheapest thing to replace would be the handle bars. When I was a kid I would pin my handle bars so they would not move cause we did a lot of jumping of our bikes and had a lot of stripped handle bars. Mongoose is a good stem I would lean towards new bars. Good Luck...

How do I raise the handle bars on my mongoose xr 200 21 speed bike

Your handle bar stem has a metric screw in the the neck of the bicycle. But, a word of caution, do not raise your handle bars more than the safety mark on the stem, it has to be inserted that much or it and it can snap in two and result in serious injury. Take it to a bike shop and they can either show you how or advise you on replacing the stem with a longer one. This is a very important part on your bike, do not take chances.

How do you raise the handle bars on a mongoose scorch bike?

there should be an allen wrench bolt on top of the handle bar shaft. loosen that but not to much because you dont want the tightening nut to fall off. now put the front tire between your legs and try to wiggle the handle bars back and forth while pulling up if it does not move try loosening it a little more and take off the first bolt on the shaft and that should work. i hope this helped you

The handle bars will not keep straight?

You may have a stripped stem bolt, and need to replace it. Also, I hope that you use metric allen wrench because all bikes are metric. Take it to a bike shop and they should be able to set you up for a very nominal fee.

I want to raise the handle bars on my Mongoose XR75 mountain bike, any ideas

Be careful, the stem must be inserted at least 3" or to the safety line, or it will snap off. You have to have a metric allen wrench. Like I say, and I cannot stress it more, do not raise beyond the safety line on stem, buy a longer stem, if you want it higher than that. If, the bike is too small, buy a bike that fits you from a shop who specializes in sizing.
