Why do clothes take a long time to dry even if dryer is heating?

Dryer had been doing this for some time. Then dryer would not start. Replaced thermal fuse after finding blockage in dryer vent. Dryer heats and runs but still have to run two cycles to dry clothes

Sounds like there is still a blockage somewhere, maybe near the filter screen.

Testimonial: "Checked that and it is clear."

SOURCE: front load gas dryer lg model dlg 5988w does not heat

This can obviously be several things, but I would first check the small safety thermostat. On the gas models, there is a small pin sticking out of it which can be pushed back in to reset it. It is located on the heater housing and is only about the size of a dime, with two wires on it. This will trip out easily if your vent was not clean, or is long or restricted in some ways (like using flex ducting)
If you need more help getting to it, let me know and I'll give you more instructions.

SOURCE: gas dryer runs, cleaned hose, get warm does not heat up to dry

with a gas dryer in which your assured te hventing is free and clear of any obstructions, i would look to replace the coil pack located atop the gas valve itself, probably about $25 part number 279834... 2 coils simply mount atop the valvle

SOURCE: dryer heats, tumbles clothes, blows air out exhause vent, but wont dry clothes

what type is this electric or gas? have you removed the exsaust from the wall and ran a load like this? if you have heat and this is an electric dryer it sounds like you have a blockage in your house. if the dryer runs fine without the exsaust attached then that is your problem. let me know

My Samsung dryer (DV40J3000EW/A2) is not drying clothes all the way!

Question edited for spelling 'Lent' to 'Lint'.

The auto dry feature uses a humidistat to sense the amount of moisture in the air as it is exiting the dryer.

The thermistor / thermostat is a heat sensing device and that is the one to change first. If inaccurate it cuts the heat off to soon resulting in a warm heat drying cycle instead of HOT.

There are two other devices, a thermal fuse which will cut power when the dryer over heats and it doesn't sound like yours is. Finally there is a Thermal Cut Out, and when it overheats so badly the fuse breaks and has to be renewed.

The other thing to check is the the vent outside is clear of lint and that the flap or grille vents are opening fully when the dryer is running..

Good videos, and the second video shows testing components.

Why do clothes take a long time to dry even if dryer is heating?

One basic reason is your washer could NOT be spinning most of the water out, therefore your clothes are wetter than they should be, thus taking longer to dry:-)

Drying machine not working, the clothes always wet.

If the dryer doesn't heat, but the drum turns, check the thermal fuse(s). The thermal fuse protects the dryer from overheating and helps to prevent fires. If the thermal fuse is blown, it will have to be replaced.

Clothes not drying

Clothes not drying? Thats it? Does the dryer turn on at all? Does it tumble the clothes but doesn't get warm? If it turns on and tumbles but takes a long time to dry, then your heating element is not working. There is a thermal fuse right before the heating element that will open up if the vent becomes clogged and its gets too hot. The thermal fuse is not resettable and will have to be replaced. If the thermal fuse is o.k. then your heating element could be burned out. These two items almost require an electrical meter to read continuity to check them. Make sure the dryer is unplugged before checking these items.

My dryer does not dry clothes

i would start by checking the thermal fuse and then the heating element itself.

Sometimes dryer will heat right, next time it won't

You more than likely have a buildup of lint in the vent hose. Even what looks like not much lint in there can cause the dryer to have issues drying the clothes. Clear the hose out really well, take it outside and shake it all out, then hook it back up and give it a shot. If that doesnt work you may have a bad thermal fuse which regulates the dryer temperature and you will need to have it replaced.

Flame only stays on for five minuts. After start

the flame doesn't stay on the whole drying time, it cycles. The thermal fuse allows machine to work and heat up but the cycling thermostat directs the flame to come on and shut off. Do your clothes dry fine?
