Plug the red and white and yellow plugs into the AV input on the back of the TV rather than the component in on the TV. (they look very similar easy to confuse)

Having just installed a new Wii console I have good sound but everything is in fuzzy black and white - no colour at all. What should I do to get colour?

    • With the yellow, white, and red AV cables that came with your system:

      • Did you have to use the red/green/blue inputs on your TV because it doesn't have the standard (yellow) AV inputs

      • If this is your first time hooking up the Wii console or have you moved it to another TV, Our experience shows that many times this issue can be solved by double-checking your connection and finding the correct Input Select for your TV or VCR.

    • With the blue, green, white, and red component cables (sold separately):

      • Review our step-by-step Wii Component Cable connection guide to make sure the cables are properly inserted and that your TV is set to the proper input.

If you have verified the connection is correct, and are still receiving a blank or black and white screen when powering on your Wii console, then the problem is likely with the system and it will need to be repaired. Please call 1-800-255-3700

My Wii is not displaying in colour - the screen is coming up as black and white?

Check how you have it connected in the back of your TV. Refer to your TV user manual for the correct connection diagrams. I have a new Samsung LED and I had to connect the Wii different than my older Samsung LCD.

Are you using RCA Cables, HDMI, etc..

Connection of wii to 37LF2500 tv

The cables you are describing are composite (Red, yellow, white) and most likely you are plugging into a component input (Red, Green, Blue) try looking for another input set, possibly on the front or side of the TV. Make sure to correlate the colors, this should also provide sound for you.

Wii plays in black and white.

Check if the tv has different types of AV settings, as this affects whether the wii plays in black and white or colour.

Plug in the wii system and everything comes in black and white

Try plugging it into another scart socket, this sometimes happens when a tv does not support 60hz. the result is a screen that has no colour. You could try just plugging it onto the seperate av inputs. Most tv's these days have one scart that will work ok and in colour.

Wii gone black and white, no colour

I bought a wii a few days ago and like everybody else mine too was in black and white with a grainy picture. I have a Panasonic lcd flat screen and thought I had connected it corrected, I got somebody out to have a look at it and found out there are some connections on the side of the TV which I hadn't even noticed before, once I put the red white and yellow leads in these and set the TV to AV3 everything is in perfect colour. Hope this works for some of you.
